It was risky business going out there and gathering up all of the leftover food the Predacons had so kindly left behind, but Rattrap was there for good reason. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have dared step into that dangerous territory for anything, even if Optimus Primal demanded he did so.
There was a patient and hungry rhino sitting in his tiny little hut and waiting for him back at the Maximal’s camp, which meant Rattrap was making quick progress in gathering up as many resources as he could for his gentle giant of a friend to enjoy. He was earning his keep, so to speak, and putting the work into his end of their deal. His reward would come so long as he gathered enough food to keep Rhinox happy, which could only happen if he scoured the ends of the Maximal territory for the best of the best… and then crept onto Predacon turf for the remainder of the room left to be filled in his bowls of berries, just to be on the safe side.
Spare food and fruits were hard to come by with so many mechs searching for the same things, but Rattrap was a professional when it came to scrounging up the goods and finding what was left behind that others had failed to notice. He crawled low to the ground and climbed as high up into the bushes as he could go, snuck behind the wildlife and followed after grooves of trails dug into the dirt and sand that led him to the best of the food around.
He wanted to impress Rhinox with his food and his finds, and he wanted to watch the mech’s optics light up with that same hungry glee that always filled up his expression anytime Rattrap made an effort to go out of his way to pamper him. He was worse than Dinobot chasing after a mech who had already become his mate, he knew, but he hardly cared. He was whipped for that big, fat rhino, and as long as there was breath left in his little rat body, he was going to use it to get his grubby mitts on more and more food for Rhinox to enjoy.
The best part, after all, came from watching Rhinox light up at the sight of Rattrap’s offerings… before lifting his aft up off of the ground to reveal the Rattrap sized imprint carved into the dirt below, a silent, steady, and known offering of a reward that Rattrap no longer had to beg for to have—for the most part, that is.
Rattrap snickered and sniffled as he transformed into his animal mode, the fruits of his labor tucked away safely in wraps against his belly and his back as he scurried across the grounds and headed straight for home. Today’s searching had been bountiful, and with his containers of berries filled to the brim and weighing nearly a third of his size altogether in the end, he knew Rhinox was going to be pleased.
Nobody seemed to notice as Rattrap scuttled through the center of camp and headed straight into the little hole at the front of his den. No one commented about the way he struggled and squirmed his way inside, struggling to fit through the entrance with the packs of berries strapped to his sides. The gaping, rhino-sized hole he had so carefully worked to carve into the back of the den over a week’s worth of time was never mentioned by anyone, either, which Rattrap was still surprised by.
Inside, Rhinox had made himself comfortable in the small space with his legs stretched out in front of him and his belly resting atop his lap. He stroked a servo atop its curved with an absent stare in his gaze, pausing occasionally to pat it instead when it emitted those low, rumbling sounds of hunger in response to the absence of food being shoved down his throat in that very moment.
“Hey, big guy,” Rattrap snickered aloud once he had finally squeezed his way inside. “You’re looking awfully hungry… ready for a good meal?”
At first, Rhinox startled at the sound of Rattrap’s voice coming from below him, his attention having been focused on the angry sounds and pained groans of his tanks as they cried out for fuel. His smile came quickly, though, and he chuckled back as he scooped the rat up and set him down atop the curve of his belly.
“I sure am,” he said, holding Rattrap steady with one servo as he held up the other, a finger lifted into the air as he paused. “Listen to it—can you hear that rumbling coming from inside?”
Rattrap couldn’t just hear it… he could feel it. He trembled with excitement and gave a giddy sound as he moved to unwrap the bowls and containers strapped to his frame, then offered them up to Rhinox, who looked them over curiously.
“I’ve brought food from everywhere,” he said, his excitement growing more and more with every new bowl of berries he held up for Rhinox to observe. “From the grasslands, the territory barrier… even the Predacon’s own land!”
“You sly mech,” Rhinox tutted with a shake of his helm. “I don’t know how you do it, but you do it every time.”
“Yes, yes,” Rattrap eagerly nodded. “Now, eat! Eat, and let me get comfortable while you start.”
There was little time for small talk when much much important things needed to be tended to. Rattrap slid down off of Rhinox’s belly with the help of a big, gentle servo easing him to the ground, and as Rhinox lifted himself up onto his knees and set the berries down in front of him, Rattrap rushed forward and settled himself down below the massive aft hovering above him.
“Easy now,” Rhinox said with a gentle laugh. “I’ve got plenty of fruit to work through today, thanks to you! I wouldn’t want you needing to tap out early before I’m finished.”
Nonsense, Rattrap thought. He would have stayed there forever if he could.
Rhinox’s frame was so big, so soft, so squishy, and it molded perfectly around him and gave him such a wonderful feeling as he was smothered beneath it. He didn’t need to say anything more as he lifted both servos up and gave Rhinox’s broad aft a smack, one servo for each cheek, before Rhinox was slowly and carefully lowering himself down again, coming down to sit atop the eager little rat beneath him one steady inch at a time.
The pressure was gradual, and the heat slowly engulfing. Rattrap wriggled as Rhinox lowered himself down, then sighed as he felt Rhinox shift and squeeze into a more comfortable recline. His frame pressed into the soft, cushy mesh of Rhinox’s aft as Rhinox finally relaxed, and as Rattrap grew accustomed to the dark, suffocating warmth of being completely squashed beneath his friend’s frame, he could feel the small, slight back-and-forth motions from Rhinox reaching out for the first container of berries to eat rippling through his frame and burying Rattrap further beneath him.
There was nowhere Rattrap would rather go, no place he would rather be, than right there, squashed beneath Rhinox’s frame with his face buried in the thick layers of fat and his frame trapped in place. It was like his little slice of heaven on earth, and the only cost was scavenging up enough food to keep Rhinox happy for the next hour or so as the mech ate.
By the time Rhinox finished, he would be drowsy enough to lie back and sit there for another hour, maybe two… and Rattrap would remain buried beneath him, happier than any mech in the world could ever hope to be.
@look-back-month-challenge Day 14: Valentine's Day
I was going to do a few more but I had a hard enough time getting this many photos I liked enough to post. I wish I'd planned ahead and had some backgrounds and props at the ready but such is life.
