Absolutely loving the 2016 vintage from Italy as we enjoyed this Rocca Gucciarda estate Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG from @ricasoli1141 blend of Sangiovese 90%, Merlot 5%, Canaiolo 5% and showcasing black currant, leather with light wood notes. Super toned, clean with acid levels that will reward cellaring. Enjoyed with some beef mince Irish stew. O primeiro vinho degustado ontem foi este belíssimo Chianti Classico, o “Castello di Brolio Gran Selezione 2013”. . Este é o vinho top de uma das minhas vinícolas preferidas no Chianti, a histórica @Ricasoli1141. . Pertencente à família Ricasoli desde 1141, o magnífico Castello di Brolio protegeu a região por séculos e assistiu o Barão Bettino Ricasoli (2 vezes primeiro-ministro da Itália) “criar” o vinho Chianti e delimitar sua área de produção em 1872. . Este vinho estupendo é elaborado com 90% Sangiovese e 5% Cabernet Sauvignon e Petit Verdot, provenientes dos melhores vinhedos da propriedade. É envelhecido por 21 meses em barricas e tonéis de carvalho francês (20% novos). . Na taça tinha coloração rubi clara e brilhante. Os aromas mostravam frutas vermelhas maduras, especiarias (pimenta-do-reino), mato molhado e, depois de algum tempo, bastante café. Na boca o vinho se mostra incrivelmente equilibrado, com boa fruta e acidez moderada, corpo médio- e taninos leves e muito elegantes. O final é longo e agradável. . Um vinhaço! The marriage was celebrated at the deathbed of the Baroness because, in the aristocratic world of 19th‑century Tuscany, the approval of the family matriarch was essential to secure inheritance, legitimacy, and the continuity of the lineage. As the baroness lay dying in the Castle of Brolio, the union needed to be formally witnessed and sanctioned to prevent future disputes among the various branches of the powerful Ricasoli family. A deathbed ceremony ensured that the marriage was legally and morally recognized, protected the transmission of property and titles, and fulfilled the baroness’s final wish to see the family line consolidated before her passing. In this way, the hurried wedding preserved both the unity and the prestige of one of Tuscany’s oldest noble houses.
