I like the idea of before-fame ricepin just being nerdy losers, who can't get a laid for life...So they choose each other instead

Ricepin hurt/comfort angsty idea:

Dr. Rice waking up from the loud sound of crying. He finds Justin having a mental breakdown – sitting on the edge of the bed, almost ripping his hair out, holding a bottle of painkillers, wich he throws at the wall in frustration. Justin explains to Tanner that he's tired. From chronic stabbing pain in his back because of spinal cancer. From constantly needing painkillers. From being unable to sleep at night and waking up with pain next morning. From knowing that the next day he'll have to act all happy and eccentric, despite the agony he's in. He doesn't have much time to save that body of his. He hates how his daily life now depends on oxycodone and doctors, who promise good news but never deliver.

Ofcourse, Tanner can't fight death, despite wanting to. But he does the best he can to help his lover, morally atleast. So he tells Justin to lay back in bed, while picking up all the small pills from the floor and bringing him a glass of water to take the needed dose of oxycodone. Then brings him a cup of warm mint tea with magnium to help him calm down his nerves.

Then they lay together in bed,Rice keeps talking about how he could help with project and be Justin's hands if his are too tired, that Justin can just lay in bed all day if he needs to. That they still have time. But it's enough for Justin to just rest his head on Tanner's lap and get those soft gentle pats on his neck and back. Feeling warm and at peace for the first time in weeks, he finally can fall asleep.
