Yes, Rich Cheese is shown to hate a child, however it's moreso due to the fact that his father is trying to resurrect her mother against her wishes. Don't worry she eventually realizes how wrong that is when she realizes he didn't know about his dad's dangerous hobbies and he is literally 5. Rich Cheese is just going through a lot rn so it takes a while to process that.

everything i am saying in this section is from experience and because i am jaded and tired. if you do not like my writing decisions at any time you are free to Make Your Own AU.
THE STORY THUS FAR:
the death of the beasts triggered a long-forgotten failsafe called "the succession" protocol, sending their respective soul jams to a previously chosen successor. these successors, in their grief and anger, have corrupted and become the New Beasts. the leader of these new beasts, candy apple cookie, has lost all composure and gone on a rampage throughout earthbread, slaying each of the ancient heroes in her wake— all except one.
white lily cookie managed to escape, and with the help of a "temporary" truce with dark enchantress cookie, manage to seal the new beasts away in moonstone. this truce, however, becomes significantly less temporary, as dark enchantress cookie is gravely injured during the battle and required to stay in the faerie kingdom full time.
together, they collect and pass on the heroes soul jams, distributing them to the next generation, tasking them with guarding the moonstone as they train their new abilities and their trust in one another.
of course, no good thing lasts forever, and after 500 years of peace, the new beasts break free, wreaking havoc once again upon the land.
THE HEROES:
silverbell cookie: holder of the soul jam of humility, and the first of the hero successors. he was the one to venture out to find the other heroes, and they consider him the "center" of the group. he idolizes the previous generation of heroes, and has been training for this moment for centuries.
princess cookie: holder of the soul jam of unity, ruling the jungle kingdom of new hollyberry alongside her sister, tiger lily cookie, and grandparent, pitaya dragon cookie. after the battle of the old kingdom, both her and tiger lily's draconic side awakened, and with the help of pitaya, they've been training their new abilities long before silverbell arrived.
rich cheese cookie: holder of the soul jam of progress, rich often debated whether she was even worthy of her late mother's power. she had never been accustomed to combat, and fled from the battle with candy apple cookie. she's still ashamed of it to this day, and instead busies herself with paperwork, being the head of the treasure hunter's guild in the cremé republic.
dark choco cookie: the holder of the soul jam of order, dark choco resides in the abandoned ruins of the dark cacao kingdom, acting as a groundskeeper and caretaker for the spirits that remain.
strawberry crepe cookie: the holder of the soul jam of acceptance, they prefer to travel rather than stay in one place— of course, given the choice, they have a garage of half-finished projects to tinker with in the faerie kingdom.
THE BEASTS:
salt cellar cookie: as the beast of vanity, salt cellar cookie's greatest regret is giving her youth to join a faceless army. she refused to allow her name to be forgotten to the annals of history, and uses both her soul jam and voice to ensure she will never leave your mind.
pavlova cookie: his corruption was, for the most part, an accident. for a sheltered sugar angel, an absentminded bite from the berry of all pain nearly broke him entirely, slaughtering and forcing out all in the garden as he descended into paranoia and madness, shaken only from his terror by another beast, dropping a weapon at his feet and telling him to do something about it, finally marking his transformation into the beast of judgement.
nutmeg tiger cookie: losing someone you found infallible would shake anyone to their core. in the agony of her grief, nutmeg had asked another beast to erase her memories entirely, letting her start over without this pain. now, with only the herald's idealistic diaries to guide her, nutmeg became the beast of stagnance, trapping all those who reside in the spicelands in an eternal loop, one without grief or suffering, just the same perfect day. forever.
cloud haetae cookie: in a desperate attempt to finish what their predecessor started, cloud haetae discovered a different sort of "enlightenment", crowning them the beast of chaos. all the world could be a neverending festival, so long as you seek it, and those who don't... will find their way to the dinner table, regardless.
candy apple cookie: the beast of wrath is more than enough to strike terror into the heart of any cookie. she feeds off anger and animosity, they say, and the rampage of the devil in red shook earthbread so permanently that her name is still spoken in a whisper. she has only one ambition— if she cannot return to the life that exists before, she will hunt down every last offender, and deliver her predecessor's wrath herself.
THE CREMÉ REPUBLIC:
scallop cookie: after 500 years, the cremé republic is one of the oldest standing civilizations on earthbread, and house oyster is at the forefront. scallop takes her role as heiress far more seriously than she would have you believe, and beneath her flippant and catty demeanor is a cold and calculating heiress that knows exactly what she wants and how she's already gotten it.
burnt madeleine cookie: with the current elder having left on an expedition she never returned from, burnt madeleine is acting elder of her house, and could not take this position less seriously. she's obsessed with strength, glory, and ego, and is more than willing to conspire with scallop cookie if it means making the maids swoon where she walks.
lemon custard cookie: he's referred to as "the last head of house custard" for a reason. his parents passed away when he was 14, and combined with his frail constitution, nobody's ever really taken him seriously, leading to a major inferiority complex. rich cheese is his best and only friend, and the only person in the republic who believes in him. it's no wonder he's madly in love with her.
apple fritter cookie: b-rank treasure hunter and president of the rich cheese cookie official fanclub, apple fritter is determined to make her place in the world. five years before the moonstone was shattered, apple fritter washed up on the shore of the republic with no home or memories to speak of. the treasure hunter's guild took her in, and she was quickly proud to count herself among rich cheese's best friends. and who wouldn't harbor a little crush on a dear friend who saved them?
THE FAERIE KINGDOM:

white lily cookie: current queen of the faeries and former hero of freedom, white lily is doing her best to protect her people and earthbread as a whole, though she's often prone to stress and paranoia.
enchantress cookie: wife of white lily cookie, very proud of how far she's come in being reformed. tends to get up to some goofy antics sometimes, and has a habit of "stepdadding"(as silverbell calls it) the hero successors.
pomegranate cookie: granted a blessing of immortality so she could continue to follow her master, pomegranate is still stoic and standoffish, but has relaxed since finding likeminded people in the faerie kingdom.
mercurial knight cookie: still as dedicated to his work as ever, people often describe him as being to white lily what pomegranate is to enchantress. he finds this comparison more amusing than anything, considering his relationship with pomegranate that everyone seems to think is a secret for some reason.
sugarfly cookie: there are perks to being the twin sister of the future king, and sugarfly knows it well. she tells people she was actually more hardworking during her time in the garden, but nobody believes her. her hobbies include lazing about, eating silverbell's food, and putting more effort into getting out of training than it would take if she just went to training in the first place.
