(Richmont) Have a listen to my version of "San Jacinto" by Peter Gabriel on Soundcloud!...I always loved this song, highly aware of how in the song Peter Gabriel used cultural appropriation to deride and decry and at the same time celebrate cultural appropriation (which is in my opinion what music is all about- an Omni-culture if you will!) I had great fun making this and thought I'd share it for today's celebration of "San Jacinto Day!" ("Remember the Alamo!"). Interestingly it is my understanding that drummer and sometime bandmate Phil Collins was a longtime collector of Davy Crockett and Alamo memorabilia! Phil did not play on this original track though.
