The Riddler (Open Starter)
Edward took a small step back, admiring his work of art. The now lifeless body of Judge Thorne was propped up with a set of scales duct taped to his left hand, his eyes gouged out and mouth covered in more tape. The Riddler intended the corpse to resemble Lady Justice.
However he presumed that the brain dead cops of the Gotham PD would not be smart enough to grasp the symbolism of his work, so he gave them another little bread crumb of a clue. The walls were covered in clippings from newspapers of some of cases Judge Thorne presided over. All defendants were conveniently found guiltily and whisked away to Arkham. Written upon the clippings in blue ink was “Justice” or “So called justice”.
He wondered if they would figure this one out, they were rather simple riddles after all. The Batman would figure it out. Even if he was not as smart as he had first thought. Edward’s face scrunched up in anger under his mask. The Batman. He was supposed to understand, he was supposed to be an equal. But he was NOT. But, he could be a useful tool.
Riddler took out a question mark covered envelope and placed it in the scales. Inside was a greeting card, that said on the front “Did you miss me?”
Inside the card was written in blue ink:
“I am one of thirty white horses that stand upon a red hill. First we champ, Then we stamp, Then we stand still. What am I?”
