Invader Zim hyperfixiation came in like an elbow to the chin;
MEMORY EXECUTED is a revamped au of an unfinished/untold story arc I did from my Tallest Spork rp blog @tallest-spork-blog which was... how many years ago?
It was-- is more Spork focused after his "death", somehow surviving under stranger circumstances, but has no recollection of his own memories or identity. This here is his and Miyuki's past cause they are important to me...
[kind? lore dump + brief OC talk below]
MIYUKI
A long time ago, when the Irken Empire had yet to come to fruition, there was a quad-planetary system consisting of sister planets that each had an Artificial-Star (Sun) that connected them together. That star generates their civilization's power and their "Minds", artificial intelligence designed by them to act as archivists of their shared history. The four sister planets would meet destruction, three planets would collapse and perish, whilst one remaining planet drifts away as its lone survivor.
Due to the loss of its sisters, their technicians built the Control Brains with what remaining memory was sent before the planet collapsed. Three brains for three planets. They managed everything with the sole mission of ensuring the survival of the remaining species- Irkens, they call them. They would continue with their calculations for Project Preservation, to find the optimal solution for them to survive-- whatever it takes.
Miyuki was just there- a regular Irken who aimed to survive too along with what remains of their population. PAKs attached to their backs to ensure they live a little longer. Miyuki only wished for the survival of her people and this planet. She used to believe in the Control Brains that they would be their savior- but she would realize that their calculations and... lack of empathy were flawed.
When the Artificial Star stopped responding, everything went dark. Miyuki would use herself as a living battery, being forced to surge through thousands and thousands of information and calculations passed by the Control Brains and also keep the PAKs active- putting the remaining populus in a hibernative state until their still planet would be found. As Irk evolved once the population woke up from the dream, Miyuki would sit behind with every memory involving her erased from each Irken and then forward until she would be ready to step into reality once more as the Empire's leader.
SPORK
Born as a project with no knowledge of his origins, he was one of the rare cases of a "meant-to-be" defective, both literally and figuratively. He never knew he was born with Vortian legs, as they were straightened then replaced with prosthetics. His PAK was manually adjusted to have a defense system to keep him away from any memory of his origins or those who were involved in creating him.
He was a might commander who had a memorable smile reserved to his small circle. You will always find him by Tallest Miyuki's side, putting a smile on her face with whatever goofiness he has in him. Unintentionally tormenting his subordinates (like Red and Purple) during training because Spork underestimates his own strengths and accuracy, keeping things light hearted to a point people never saw him be "serious" before.
When Tallest Miyuki was killed, Spork would later take the next mantle as Tallest after her. The last person to see him before his first day as Tallest was Inventor, who saw Spork smiling wider with a blank stare. He regressed further somehow, as if his entire memory of himself had abstracted and locked itself back to the back of his mind.
Any memory of him became vivid after his death; the only ones who remember him would turn away to mourn or have disappeared completely. Red and Purple were indifferent, but Purple had seen Spork's face before the announcement that Tallest Miyuki died.
INVENTOR
She made several breakthroughs with Irken technology, seemingly mastering them at a fast pace. The Inventor was the reason SIR-Units were developed and she built the Announcer, an Irken-like android who would become a charming face managing live reports.
She was within Tallest Miyuki's circle and was responsible for many instances of technological development even though she was more hostile- too prideful to collaborate. Yet she always comes through and finds herself having snack breaks with Miyuki, Spork, and Rie.
Inventor would stick by Spork's side up until she saw him leave the Control Brain's room and have changed entirely. She had set up defenses and everything ever since Miyuki died, wanting to ensure Spork was protected. But her defenses were shut down. She would learn that the deaths of Miyuki and Spork were planned- not an accident, as her machines were tempered by the Control Brains.
With no one else left, even with Rie disapearing after Miyuki's death, she left the empire with a message on a SIR-Unit that found itself on Planet Dirt;
"There is nothing left for me here. The ones I care about are gone. No point in staying."
Since her departure, the Irken Empire have resorted to commissioning the Vortians for their technology and weaponry before the invasion of Vort.
RIE
Unknown from start to finish; He appears and then disappears. He was part of a research team that found Miyuki during her state of keeping what remains of the Irken populus alive- even the Control Brains. Rie was the one who initiated the project of helping Miyuki-Project Preservation be finalized. Unknown to anyone BUT him and Miyuki, Rie is a titled genius from an unknown organization made up of geniuses across the galaxy. Rie, also known as Aries, is one of them who's accomplishment involved a study on dark matter and "Negative Space".
He was there in the background, along with Miyuki, and posed himself as an unofficial Vortian envoy for "diplomatic reasons" even if his origins are unknown to actual Vort diplomats. Inventor was close to figuring out who Rie really was yet despite that, she didn't care as long as he was still good terms with her and the others.
However, when Miyuki died suddenly- Rie would leave. His last parting words were with Inventor, in which he says;
"I really meant it when I said you were brilliant. Out of all the people I've come across, you were the most interesting. Take care of Spork for me, okay?"
