THIS COMES OUT OF NOWHERE. Castiel is sitting at the kitchen table and nursing a beer while Dean, the self-appointed meat man, prepares dinner, and he nearly chokes on his drink when Dean just turns, spatula in hand, burger patties sizzling in the cast-iron pan behind him, and says that.
Truth be told, he doesn't know what to say. He doesn't even know what to think because this could mean so, so much –– Castiel is not well-versed in colloquialisms and proverbs, and there's a very real fear inside his chest that he's misinterpreting this. He doesn't want to misinterpret this. It would hurt incredibly.
"Dean," he says carefully, wrapping both hands around his beer bottle. "I could never hate you. You are the most important human in my life." A beat of silence. The burger patties start to smell a little burnt. "By –– by feelings, you mean...?"
