Genuinely when I was younger I thought mom raised me to be confident, but in reality she just raised me to be egotistical — because confidence with a belief of superiority is just egoism. So much of what I had to unlearn from her was so I could trust other people and not ruin my relationships. I'm only the way that I am because of other people.
