(I'm not going to name myself here, but feel free to tag as PJO/riordanverse)
Being a fictive is all fun and games until the fandom completely forgets you have a personality outside of being "[character]'s significant other".
I'm going to be a bit vague about this because I know the problem can be solved by just filtering certain tags (which I plan to do going forward), but it's disheartening to know that it's all people see me as. If it were simply filtering out ship names I wouldn't have as much of a problem, but one of the posts I saw didn't even have me in it but was still tagged with my name because it was fanart of my canonical boyfriend.
Emphasis on canonical btw! He was NEVER my boyfriend in the first place! That isn't how things played out in my timeline! I know it's a popular ship considering it was canonized so I can't be mad about seeing it, but I wish people would tag their posts accordingly. Do NOT attach my name to a post if I'm not even present in it. I have much more of a personality than simply being "the fandom fave's boyfriend". I have my own passions and friends and family.
I know it's a bit of a pointless rant given that I have the tools to avoid it (for the most part), & that this might be too discourse-y to be allowed on this blog, so I understand if it isn't posted. It's just a struggle trying to find my own identity when nobody else seems to care about me as anything other than a plot device.
