Vicente never considered himself much of a religious man, yet in the last month -- the last day or so, particularly -- many thoughts and prayers had gone out. There had to be some truth to it, somewhere. Why else would these relics hold any power over these creatures of the dark?

Sunlight had yet to break, but the sky was considerably lighter than the inky blackness it was when he left Chuck back at the lounge. The male was on one knee, head bowed, for a few solemn moments while he waited. Noah would be there at some point to settle a score. Vicente felt numbed to the moment, only because of its overwhelm. There were far too many things to think and feel, so the hunter did what hunters do, and shut himself off from all of that. Distanced from those human distractions and focus only on the vampire that would come for him.

A needle sank into his thigh, the injection quick and simple. Adrenaline. Anything that would help boost himself was used. Right on down to the necklace and cross he kissed, pausing only to bless himself before it was tucked back within the folds of that nice cotton shirt. That full face mask was discarded to the side. Vicente took a handful of dirt and stood to height now while he rubbed hands together, as his heart slowly began to race and his eyes dilated, everything around him coming into sharper focus and his ears open to whatever unnatural sounds. Nightshade Park already had a certain reputation -- it seemed suited for the moment, not likely to be busy and no buildings around... This would only be one more thing to blur the lines of fact and myth.

And so he waited.

They watched their boss get squashed like a bug, helpless, and came away with a thirst for vengeance. But they're centipedes, how are they gonna get back at some humans? *exhales drag and leans over the table, handcuffs clinking together* I tell you how. Spiders. Remnants of the House Cent crew quietly let the Crawler gang know it's open season. And the Crawlers are skeptical, y'know? Trust takes time, people get skittish in the business. But after a handful of scouts go out and come back unharmed, with tales of wonder and woe? They start to rally everyone up, abandon the nest, and start to march lightward. For glory, for adventure, and for the vengeance they desperately crave. *leans back in the booth and ashes the cigarette in a glass of applejuice*"
