various ship requests from twitter
very, excessively, horrendously late valentines art lol
Riptide and tsunami! I feel this ship is really underrated both by the fandom and the books themselves, I wish they got more scenes together
idc what ANYONE says ripnami is peak
the ugly ass groom and the WIFE:
ripnami content!!
"he makes me laugh"- Tsunami
i forgot Riptides wings- hes a walrus because i was trying out sea lions for seawings, i mentioned this in a discord, and someone told me to draw walrus riptide. i love him. to be clear, i do not think riptide or walruses are ugly, this is just inspired from that stupid mlp meme lmao.
i used Tsunamis 'book' ref from the wiki cause i wanted to try out different colours on her, and bcs Riptide and Tsunami are kinda similar colourwise.
valentines day post early i guess?? i dont rlly like or celebrate valentines day but its a ship post,,
not my best work but i like em.
this is your riptide content you so kindly asked for :D @azalearobin
Riptide has such an interesting arc about how Coral killed his mom over Tsunami and absolutely nothing is done with it. It's treated as an aside. If nobody's gonna address it, I will. (Excerpt from my fanfic, Fly Me To The Moons, which can be found here: https://archiveofourown.org/series/2854606)

“You’re not going to give up, are you?” He frowned. One of the few times he ever did around her.
“I just don’t want you to feel the need to lie around me.” Tsunami squeezed his wing talons. “I’m trying to be better about that myself. All those years we could’ve been together because I bottled things up.” She laughed without humor. “I just don’t want you to be like me. Relationship only has room for one of us, anyway.”
He didn’t laugh. He just stared. It honestly bothered Tsunami in a way she didn’t know she could be bothered. Riptide’s eyes met hers and she saw what he wanted to say in them. Then, he glanced up at the statue of her mother.
“I hate your mom.”
Tsunami blinked. “I… kind of figured you did, honestly.”
“Do you know why I hate your mom?” He slowly turned his head back to her. “Because it’s not what she did to me. Yes, that’s part of it, but it pales to the real reason.”
Deep down, Tsunami had a very grim realization as to why. She must’ve expressed this from the way Riptide looked at her.
“My dad, I understand why she acted that way,” Riptide continued. “I’d probably be the same if someone stole my egg.” He went quiet again. “So, why did she kill my mom?”
Tsunami felt like she was back in the Ice Kingdom as those words crashed into her like an avalanche. What she feared was true. And truth be told, a little part of her - always hidden away - wondered if this would ever come up.
“I don’t know,” Tsunami answered quietly.
“I know you don’t.” He didn’t smile, but it was clear he wasn’t taking out any of this on her. It did not stop the guilt that flowed in her veins anyway due to the second part of this realization. “She may not have killed my mother personally, but she sent her to the frontlines. Her, a non- combatant. No combat skills at all.”
His claws curled.
“General Shark realized what had happened and did everything in his power to keep her away from the main fighting.” His voice had become thicker. More ragged. “It didn’t matter; the line was broken. She was an easy target.”
“Two years old,” he snarled out. “Two years old and my mother left me against her will. Not three months later did General Shark show up to personally tell me what’d happened. The Queen was nowhere in sight. I deserved it according to her because I just so happened to be related to my father. We both had no idea he’d do such a thing!”
His tail slapped the ground in a fit of anger. Tsunami grimaced from the sound.
“And now she’s dead. She’s dead, and I will never get to demand why she decided to orphan a two year old dragonet by sending his mother to war.” He averted his gaze as streams fell down his face. “Tomorrow would’ve been my mother’s hatchday.”
now answer how each of the gals would respond to the question “would you still love me if I was a worm.” 🫵 /hj /lh
I had a feeling someone would raise this question, so here is part 2 of "The Arc One Couples And The 'Would You Still Love Me If I Was A Worm' Question: Girls Edition." (part one is here)
Peril would answer this question unprompted. There is no universe in which Clay decides 'hm, I should test Peril's affection for me by raising the hypothetical scenario of if I was a worm', however I definitely do think that there is a reality in which Peril, entirely unprompted, not only assures Clay that she would still love him if he was a worm, but she'd become very distraught at the thought that if he was a worm, he wouldn't be a fireproof worm, and then she wouldn't be able to touch him, and she might incinerate him by accident. Clay can only say 'there, there', and reassure her that he has no intention of becoming a worm and she doesn't have to worry.
Tsunami's response would probably be along the lines of 'I would find whoever is responsible for you being a worm, and I would kill them.' Her response definitely would lean more 'I love you so much that the idea of you being a worm is a terrible one to me', rather than 'I love you so much that you being a worm wouldn't change things'. She'd probably embark on a long rant about the things she would do to someone who dared turn her boyfriend into a worm, and Riptide would listen, thoroughly enjoying the increasingly detailed threats.
I think Deathbringer has asked Glory if she would love him if he was a worm. She would roll her eyes and say 'no', because she can tell when he's fishing for compliments and affection, but it would be a very affectionate 'no' that conveys that, yes, she would still love him if he was a worm--but maybe not if he keeps asking stupid questions.
If Starflight raised the question of 'would you still love me if I was a worm', Fatespeaker, I think, is fully prepared with an answer. The answer is obviously yes, and she'd go into detail about the little worm terrarium she'd design for him, and she'd find scrolls about worms to read to him, and she'd take him everywhere with her like her little worm friend, and she'd try to find other worms for him to be friends with. Maybe she'd learn to speak worm for him (do worms have a language, do you think?), and so on, at such a length that Starflight has to wonder whether she's dreamed up a potential future in which he is a worm, and has planned accordingly. Either that, or she has a great imagination for what she would do with a worm boyfriend.
