Lady Love Month -> Day Twenty Two
Candice LeRae is an adventurer, an explorer, and a damn fine archeologist. She's been to the steppes of Siberia, she's seen the pyramids of Giza, she's been to the Parthenon, and she's stood inside the Colosseum. She's excavated in Machu Picchu, she's cruised the Amazon River, and now, she's about to make her biggest discovery yet - the Lost City of Elthurah.
The story of Elthurah was first recorded through Aboriginal oral traditions over 4,000 years ago. An advanced technological society, it was said that Elthurah had wheeled transportation, flying mechanical vessels, and medicine that could cure almost any illness. They had their own written language, a love for music and poetry, but their people were also fit and physical and capable of building permanent structures. They had their own form of government, their own polytheistic religion, a paper currency, and a free education system.
For 3,500 years they lived and they thrived, and when the people grew tired and lonely and disillusioned by all around them, they decided to cut themselves off, to sever their ties with every other culture, and they beseeched their gods for a magical solution - a barrier.
A barrier of light and invisibility and hiding in plain sight, and Elthurah has been missing ever since, all of them disappeared in a single instant.
Until today.
Rhea Ripley is the leader of Elthurah, a responsibility she inherited and then earned through popularity, and it is her decision to destroy the barrier. They've been separated, abandoned, isolated for far too long, and there are celebrations for weeks after Candice and her crew make contact.
They've missed so much, have lost so much of history, and Candice is more than willing to explain it to them. Especially when Rhea looks at her with those avid eyes, when she smiles at her with such brillaint longing... when she kisses her with such stunning passion.
It's hard to do anything else, really.
