July 23, 2026 | TeeHeng - Summoning a Demon
TEE BOONYAKAIT as JANE PATRICK ep 3&4
Just saw a post in this tag about how sooner or later the abuse and manipulation in 2Janes relationship will be romanticized and that it's just not the way to do it. Bc they had the potential to take it in thriller direction or full on supernatural with demon wings and everything.
And like, that's fine, that's okay. Many of us were hoping for some kind of real-demon plot. And of course toxic relationship between main leads might not be for everyone.
But also like... we were kinda warned that it would be a toxic relationship?... And we surely should've anticipated it being full on manipulative and abusive in some ways.
And that's also okay.
Because this is a piece of media. It's main goal is to entertain you, however it may seem fit to do so to the author/creator. Not to educate and lecture you on the topic of healthy relationships.
If the main plot is about toxic relationships then let it be about that. In some cases when the main 'toxic' couple stays together in the end - it can be considered as a happy ending. That might be some kind of convoluted love to us. But it works for the couple, and they are happy (VegasPete for example). Such pieces of media should also exist. So that we could see how different the relationships can be from one another. We do not need to see only sunshine and rainbows and healthy happy relationships.
Like, just to reiterate, that's fine if you just don't like this kind of dynamic between characters. But it's not really fine to expect every piece of media to be prim and proper. It exists not to lecture you and not to have good morals, but to en-ter-tain. And that's it.
We need to do basic self-education on this topic ourselves. With reliable sources. Not through shows of films. Because those are works of fictions. They can and will be inaccurate, as life and fiction are way too different. Even the portrayal of healthy relationships can be shown as too idealistic, or still have some unhealthy bits to it. So it's never right to look up to the entertainment industry to teach us about life.
TLDR: do not go searching for life advices and directions in entertainment industry, kids. That is not the reason it exists.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk
