Mariners Memorial Lighthouse II by James Marvin Phelps Via Flickr: Mariners Memorial Lighthouse Belanger Park River Rouge, Michigan July 2026 Built in 2003, this three-sided, 35-foot lighthouse was erected to honor the brave mariners who lost their lives on the Great Lakes—including the crew of the legendary SS Edmund Fitzgerald. Nestled inside the tower is a historic fog bell, a silent nod to the rugged history of Michigan's shipping channels.
