I hate the show Riverdale so fucking much I have mini strokes every time I see an ad from it. I saw an ad for Riverdale once where it had a diner and the lights werr burnt out so it just said "die" on the sign. My eyes combusted and fell out of my skull in that moment. I heard an ad where it was talking about the dark secrets of Riverdale and I was sent into convulsions. They took the archies. A comic and show that was so light and happy and made this edgy ass monstrosity. They went from a group of kids and a dog who sang "sugar, sugar" in a talent show where the guys danced over to the kissing booth, got a kiss from Sabrina the teenaged witch, turned into an anthropomorphic animal, kept dancing and singing, and turned back after she blew them another kiss. They were happy!! And then they did whatever the fuck this is! They made jughead edgy?? The boy is nicknamed jughead!! And he goes by it!! Like this isn't some edgy nickname given by a bully or some shit this is what he goes by!!! What!! The!!! Fuck!!!

I'm seeing a lot of posts shitting on River/dale for sexualizing teenage characters and regardless of how I feel about that any time something bad happens to make people angry at that show my first thought is "Alright are we finally gonna stop acting like River/dale is any good?"

im watching riverdale (i’m doing it to make fun of it so if you actually like riverdale this might upset you, just as a warning) and the thing with jughead narrating stuff is so melodramatic and annoying every time it happens tbh like i’m not reading a book, i don’t need you melodramatically narrating things for me to Get It i’m already painfully aware of how overly dramatic this show can be without you doing that

Unpopular opinion

I don't understand the reason to make a dark and gritty Archie. Further more I refuse to believe it is anything other than a try to bank off the popularity of "dark" reboots. From what I can tell they don't seem to know about the actual characters in the comics and has a weird scream queen 'vigilante'. It just seems unneeded and a weird vague Archie version of Pretty Little Liars
