I have more casting ideas if Cae’s book Golden Legacy: Part 1 ever becomes a movie.
1. Sofia Carson as Riverlynn
With a balance of vulnerability and strength in Vivalda’s little sister, I can absolutely see Carson being able to balance those out with adding a bit of flair and fear in her character. I personally love Carson’s acting when she did Purple Heart and I think the acting styles/choices she made in that movie would benefit her for this potential movie as well.
2. Tom Holland as Orion
There’s an uncertainty and struggle of following orders vs. trying to do what’s right. Similar to Holland’s Peter Parker, there’s a confliction between the two morals that Holland nails in the performance. He also seems to try and do what’s right but there’s also a level of doubt that I’ve read so far. Also, I would be curious on how the dynamic of him and Atticus (David Harbour) would work out.
3. Last but not least, Imelda Staunton as Lyla. I know most people know her for her work as Dolores Umbridge in the Harry Potter Franchise. Though was a much for graceful and gentle performance she did as Lady Maud Bagshaw in Downton Abbey: A New Era. (Not my first choice, mainly did it for my mom as she is a fan of the Downton Abbey series). Anyway, Lyla is one of the oldest castle staff they have and she carries a level of dignity, compassion, strength, and grace in her mannerisms. She treats the girls as if they are her own daughters and it breaks her heart to see Vivalda banished by her own father. (Sorry for the spoiler). I can absolutely see Staunton portray this role. Again, this is a Dreamcast and my opinions.
