It’s a forum mostly for people who like Korean entertainment, but also covers Chinese, Japanese, and international too. We have a press team that I’m part of and do detailed reviews on stuff. Recently got to do a review of Handmaiden so~~

It was intense in terms of everything that was given to us, but I happened to see the director’s cut so there was an extra thirty or so minutes added on. Whatever version I saw... there was some fucked up shit. It’s like Carol + Blue is the Warmest Colour (catalogue of lesbian sexual positions) + Stoker/Oldboy.

Hmmm... I don’t recall ever seeing one but maybe on Youtube? I definitely have seen ones from past season floating around and I’m sure it exists. It’d just be a matter of finding it.

Looking at it, I would say not necessarily. The subway HQ is trashed and destroyed and Root is narrating via what sounds like a recording. She says if “you’re” hearing this “you’re alone.” She has no idea if herself or the others might be alive. She doesn’t know if they’ve won or what victory would even constitute at this point.

We don’t know whom she’s speaking to. Possibly The Machine. Possibly an ally.

But if it’s a recording she made in advance of a “just in case”/“worst case” scenario, it doesn’t mean she’s dead. Unless she’s narrating from beyond the grave.

I’m not even sure Root would even believe in a spiritual afterlife in which she could accomplish that. XD A digital afterlife?

Well. Ghosts in the machines would be interesting.

i mean tbh i was being 100% bitter about it all, and i’m happy either way if you’re able to see it how you want to. i love aurora and her characterisation. just feel sad i have to give up a queer couple (which is vastly more relatable to me) for a het one. im gonna watch x company regardless, cos it’s a great show with a great cast.
