You are an agens of the goddess of death. In your childhood you used to be of an elite noble class, the Corona Elevatus, but your father betrayed the Corona, resulting in the death of your family save for you and your mother.
The both of you escaped the Corona's clutches thanks to a war with the country to the north, one that utterly changes the world as you know it.

Book 2 in the All Things Terrible and Beautiful series
This is an IF in perpetual development, with basis in a DND campaign I once ran and wish to turn into a text for a general audience to enjoy. The country of Theras and the adventure you go on is completely of my own creation, and the length of the story is undetermined.
My goal is to create a few chapters, there are currently five in development but I will provide what I can in terms of what is completed so far. This game was created using Twine, specifically in the Chapbook format; meaning that while this can be played on mobile, this story does not have a manual save button, this game auto-saves in the background to your browser.
This story has elements of horror, both grotesque and potentially existential, and is loaded with angst. Therefore this story is not for those under the age of 18, and I suggest you read the TW list thoroughly to ensure you are not triggered by what can be found in game. This is not an encompassing list and is subject to change as the content changes and the story progresses. I will do my best to update once a chapter is completed.
TW list:
** Swearing and other adult language
** Violence
** Blood, gore, descriptions of violence
** Injury, sometimes severe/life-threatening to the MC
** Optional sexual content (explicitly detailed)
** Nudity
** Touching without specific consent (this work is not written with specific touch-aversions in mind)
** Death (human: unnatural and accidental)
** Depression/Anxiety/Panic
** Nightmares
** Disparaging thoughts
** Substance use and references/use of alcohol
** References to child death
Features:
Several LGBTQ+ ROs, most of which are in a godly nature, predominately playersexual but they are not defined by you to that extent. Furthermore most of the cast is gender queer and somewhat masculine presenting. These romances are not mandatory, and instead could be strong friendships; I hope to add QPR functionality as well, but that is a work in progress.
MC physical traits that are very versatile, as well as personality traits that will impact how you interact with others as well as treat yourself.
A story that will vary in genre but primarily will focus on horror and angst. I like happy endings in spite of this, so I will provide such a choice, but you still get to choose how things end.
The ROs:
The Unnamed God (heretofore referred to as TUG): An individual who can be shaped by your choices, you will find that TUG is friendly and affable in the beginning of the story. Whether you adore such traits or avoid them is up to you. TUG is 5'5" and their features are unknown to you for now.... In the end, they are are a prominent source for the horror elements of the game.
Dawn (she/her): Dawn is a bard you meet along in the journey, whom you can meet as early as chapter 2, and as late as chapter 4. Dawn is the only mortal besides you involved in this adventure, something you can potentially bond over whilst she plays her viol for you. She is the safer choice, so to speak, as a romance partner due to her relatively normal nature.
Flor (he/they): Flor is the god of flowers, kindness, devotion, and children. Flor is also a traitor to your country, though most of the people have forgiven him for his transgressions, there is still the air of awkwardness that comes with his involvement in the story. Flor is the gentlest lover when you need him to be, or the most fanatical.
DISCLAIMER:
As mentioned in this blog's tagline, this IF potentially may never be finished. I'm an individual who hyper-fixates on projects pretty hard during the summer, but once school starts for me...
So, I assure you I will provide what I can for the summer, and if I am able, I will continue working on the IF throughout the school year.
Just discovered this now, so adding it but @interact-if
This is a post that will detail any songs I come across that I feel like suit the ROs and certain emotional states. I will provide a Youtube link to each song and a short blurb as to how it is relevant to the RO! As mentioned in a few posts, I totally welcome song suggestions especially for this post, and will give credit to you if permitted.
Most songs in this list will have a primary instrument that I strongly associate with each RO. That being said if there are songs that I cannot explain without a spoilery explanation, I will put in the MISC section.
TUG
With TUG, I strongly associate the god with the hurdy gurdy. A strange choice to some of you I know, but it feels so perfect for it.
Tug is likely to get angry at points throughout the IF, especially if you make choices that stress him out. In battle or if TUG is massively upset, Visions by Guilhem Desq would play
Given TUG's so far hinted at past, Little Dark Age by MGMT feels most relevant to them
MISC TUG songs:
The Line by Twenty One Pilots
Functional Poetry by The Narcissist Cookbook
NOT ENTIRELY ALONE by The Narcissist Cookbook
the bird song (with Em Beihold) by Noah Floersch
Alittle. by ROMES - warning themes of suicidal ideation!
Flor
With Flor, I associate the god of flowers with the piano!
Flor, like any god, has the capacity for a great and menacing anger. The kind no mortal would survive. Therefore, when Flor is angry I believe the song Asgretalos by Keygen Church starts to play.
Flor struggles a great deal with what happened at the Siege of Tyrants, especially as so many children died in the war. In turn, to drive that dagger into their heart a little further, I associate the song Harpy Hare by Yaelokre to be suitable for the god.
Related to the above song blurb, Eat Your Young by Hozier also feels delightfully relevant. Along with Rabbitology's Wildfire.
What do calm days look like with Flor? If you want to picture it, listen to One Summer Day by Joe Hisashi.
If romantically involved with the MC, I feel like such a romance can be best associated with Bloody Tears (from Castlevania) by Myuu.
MISC Flor songs:
damaged goods by The Narcissist Cookbook
dirge (for neomar lander) by The Dreadnoughts
Dawn
With Dawn, and this feels most obvious, I associate the viol or similar string instruments.
Dawn gets angry like anyone does, but when that happens her playing gets more violent and frightening. She adds showmanship, a dangerous playfulness to her playing; Therefore I think Beethoven Virus by DIANA is most accurate to portray this anger, though fair warning this Youtube video does have flashing lights!!
MISC Dawn songs:
The Devil Went Down to Georgia by Charlie Daniels
NOT ENTIRELY ALONE by The Narcissist Cookbook
Retribution by P.T. Adamczyk
I just think she would like it: HOES DEPRESSED by THOT SQUAD
This is probably a super basic question lol (apologies) but I’m curious what the characters (specifically the LIs) would end up doing in a modern au? Like what would they end up doing as a career, if anything at all?
Thank you!!
Hi anon! I'm doing well, and hope you are too!
No question is too basic, never apologize for that! I've vaguely had thoughts for a modern au, and I'm glad to have the chance to answer. Mind you that this is based on Canadian culture and careers, since that's where I live!
Flor: Likely an elementary school teacher or school counselor. Most of the kids love him, especially those kids who come from less privileged backgrounds. While he works 2-3 schools, he always tries to make kids feel genuinely appreciated and looked out for. I feel like in their spare time, they spearhead the queer clubs at school and free-lunches for students.
Dawn: I feel like Dawn would have been in school for music theory/songwriting but dropped out in her third year. She eventually found a job as a bartender of a local pub and makes a living that way. She participates largely in the local BIPOC and queer communities, predominately in the protest sort of sense. In her spare time, she plays fiddle in a local BIPOC folk band and performs at the pub she works at.
TUG: TUG would have been in the military from 18yo to about 25yo where they then acquired amnesia (Retrograde or Post-Traumatic Amnesia) and thus honorably discharged. Post getting out of the military, TUG has become a student studying the arts, specifically pottery. On the side, TUG attends re-enactment events for medieval times or practices with a sword. To him, it feels comforting having a semblance of control over their body. It also would participate in the local BIPOC and queer communities, though feeling unfortunately alienated from the veteran community (due to his youth, and perhaps even race but I can't speak on that at length).
Thank you for the question anon! All kinds of questions like these are welcome, and I hope to answer more! I may even speak on this topic further if prompted...
Hello my friends, I am opening the discussion for those who desire QPR, Poly, and romantic routes within ATAB. This information is slightly spoilery for certain elements of RO routes, with the expectations from the ROs outlined for you to read.
QPRs
What QPRs will look like in ATAB is sort of similar to how the romances will be programmed. There will be the same options across the board for Romance in terms of intimacy scenes, physical touch, and interactions between all ROs.
Since QPRs have multiple definitions and require a thorough discussion between participants, I will simply provide player choices so that you can customize how the QPR plays out. For example, if you are comfortable with kissing your RO, you can do it! If you just want to cuddle, that's fine too. If you just want to vibe, that's welcome! There is no penalties for these choices, and all serve the purpose of relationship development with your RO.
Additionally, you do not have to refer to your RO as your partner. I will give you the choice to call them that, but if there are other labels people want feel free to say so! Otherwise the basic alternatives are "friend" "Close one" or "soul companion".
All ROs are completely fine with a QPR, though will have the same requirements of you as their Romance requirements.
Poly
This specific avenue of romance is a bit difficult to give a 100% firm answer on as of right now. The core reasons being the planning and thought process hasn't been completed on my part yet.
However in the hypothetical that we *do* do a polycule route, there are limits. For example, it would be a hinge relationship with you, Flor, and Dawn.
TUG will not be an active participant in the polycule. They simply are monogamous, just out of preference and due to some issues on his part.
Flor would be happy to do a poly route! But will only come into a relationship with you due to the nature of his requirements as your RO.
Dawn would be absolutely fine with a poly route! This again comes with the same caveats of her RO route.
The reason why they wouldn't date each other or TUG is merely conflicting personalities and them not being likely to be attracted to each other.
Romances
Now I have been alluding to this section throughout the post without providing too much info. This is because this section is a bit more spoilery than the rest but may be good to know for y'all as players. To prevent major spoilers, I will avoid talking about TUGs route.
Flor's route: Romancing Flor will require you to have children with him. This might be estranging for some of you, but that is just how the character is. They are the god of children, he helped raise generation after generation but never directly. Given the chance once he's in the mortal realm with you, they want to adopt/have children with you and raise a family. There is no expectations of the amount of children you would have, he just wants to be a parent.
Dawn's route: Romancing Dawn will require you to not expect to have children with her. Dawn does not want to be a mother, and while this choice is not required to be justified, I will explain a bit about it.
Dawn does not see herself as a mother, as a present parent, she doesn't want kids to be around her. It's partially due to trauma yes, but also preference. She didn't want kids from a young age and still doesn't, it's as simple as that.
In the case of a polycule with Flor, however, as long as the MC doesn't expect Dawn to help raise any kids that they have with Flor she's fine. She can be an awkward aunt to any kid, she would never be mean, just indifferent and will not help you raise them.
That is all! Any questions or critiques are welcome.
The god of flowers, kindness, children, and devotion~
Just as for TUG, I cannot provide a description of Flor's appearance save for the fact that the god is 6'8" and has purely black eyes.
Edit: Due to the publication of Chapter 6, Flor's appearance, both godly and mortal in nature, has been revealed to the world! Under the cut is spoilery information, so if you haven't read chapter 6 don't open this post up!
Godly form:
Mortal form:
Image Info: Image Info: This image was created using Picrew, a free online Dollmaker that allows anyone to create ocs. This particular picrew is by @/crowesn. The link to the picrew is here.
Age: As old as one can guess.
Pronouns: He/They
Gender: While there isn’t the concept of gender in Theras, Flor can be likened to the identity of non-binary.
Birthplace: Flor is one of the many members of the pantheon with no true birthplace. One day, Flor simply existed. There is no how or why about it.
Personality: The kindest of gods, sweetest of individuals, softest of hearts, Flor does not take to acts of terror easily. Though if one of his own, be it followers, friends, or any child under threat, that threat is annihilated. Once you get to know Flor, you will have a chance to see a person at the crossroads of massive change; a change they chose, but a change that frightens him nonetheless.
Appearance: Flor has had many followers of his choose to try and depict his true form in their art. For the most part, the god appears to have a pastel purple skin tone with pastel blue skin markings throughout their face. In some depictions, the god has fangs, presumably related to their status as protector of children. In other depictions, the god is shown with flower crowns placed upon their head, and natural curly hair cut to about chin length.
Character Description:
Flor is a mysterious person beloved by many as a god. No one truly knows the gods personally, as much as the Fanatics of Caroway may claim otherwise. Flor is truly aligned with his domains, and tries to aid mortals in the creation of a better world.
However, Flor is flawed. He was on the side of the country that invaded Theras, though his decisions are unknown to mortals; this did mean however that some left his order, choosing to denounce the god after such a decision. As the Siege of Tyrants went on, the opposing country took to committing what we in reality would consider war crimes. Many villages and towns were razed to the ground...
And so were many orphanages. Orphanages are typically run by the followers of Flor, each child given the chance at a good life under their care. Such lives were unfortunately snuffed out in the war, and Flor found that unforgivable. They switched sides because of this, but still lost many more followers in the process.
Fun fact: Flor hides a secret domain that he doesn't show anyone. A side you may discover should you choose to romance them...
