Every piece of art you see or hear has hundreds, even thousands of hours of practice behind it. The last time I played Chopin’s “Military” Polonaise, I kept track, and I put in 600 hours of work for 2 performances. That’s not counting the 20 years of classical piano studies leading to that point. I’m finding the same process to be true for calligraphy. Those hours of work, building technique—that is craft.
