Which Robin Oakapple do you prefer?
A
B
For those not in the know: he's a shy farmer (with a dark secret)! Reblogs would be appreciated, I'd like a larger sample size :)
Although Robin Oakapple’s first appearance presents him as a village farmer (albeit one with the manners of a Marquis, which is *totally not* foreshadowing his being a disguised nobleman), he very quickly is addressed as a Baronet twice, by both Old Adam and Richard Dauntless.
Now, of course, from a theatrical perspective this is necessary, because the *audience* needs to know Robin’s secret. But within the universe of the show, this raises the question: if Old Adam has been going around for ten years referring to Robin as Ruthven whenever he thinks no one is listening (and you can’t tell me this is the first time he’s done it) how many of the townspeople have figured it out by now? Rose Maybud obviously doesn’t know, and Dame Hannah probably doesn’t suspect it either, but it would definitely be funny when Despard storms the wedding in the Act 1 Finale and half the chorus is Obviously Pretending to be surprised.
Painted emblems of a race - a Ruddigore / Unsleeping City Iga Lisowski animatic
I did it - I made an even more obscure crossover than the last one! Based on the scene with Iga's foremothers in S2E8, "Feasts & Families", in which Iga experiences what I like to call a "Ruvthen in Act 2 of Ruddigore" moment. So here is Act 2 of Ruddigore, where the protaganist meets the ghosts of their ancestors who have come out of their portrait frames, to tell the protaganist that they must perpetuate the evil that their line has caused for hundreds of years, lest even worse things happen (which they turn out to be completely wrong about).

A John Reed inspired Robin Oakapple. I referenced these photos: (click) (click)
This guy has a very specific face and it complements all his vocal mannerisms quite well, really fun to draw.
