Cookies and Cuddles
@flufftober
Prompt: Pillows, plushies, and piles of blankets
Fandom: The Guild Codex: Demonized
Pairing: Robin Page x Zylas et Vh'alyir
~
One thing an illegal demon contractor never expects when she walks into the living room after baking cookies for her demon, is to find him sprawled out all over a pile of pillows on the living room floor.
Zylas' head barely lolled over in her direction so he could look at her with his glowing red eyes.
"...Comfortable?"
He gave a single nod before turning his head back.
"Cookies are done by the way."
He nodded again. She raised an eyebrow. This was unusual. Was he sick? No, demons didn't get sick. It had been pretty cold recently. Perhaps he was feeling weak?
She peeked over. Socks was curled up on his stomach. She stiffled a giggle with her hand. The classic blunder.
"You want me to bring you the cookies?"
Another single nod.
Smiling to herself, she headed to the kitchen to plate the fresh-baked cookies. She carried them back out into the living room, still smiling. However, just as she was about to set the plate on the pillows near him, Zylas grabbed her by the arm and tugged her into the pillow pile.
"Zylas!" she hissed. "I could've spilled cookies everywhere."
"But you did not."
She pursed her lips at him. He reached out and grabbed a cookie, looking her directly in the eyes as he ate it. Not defiantly, just, indifferently. The eyes' equivalent of a shrug. Much like Socks' opening her eyes, only to tuck her head back under.
She rolled her eyes at him and leaned back with the plate in hand.
"I suppose I might as well get comfortable too then."
"Yes." He said decisively, already grabbing another cookie. She put the plate aside, getting one for herself, before something else in the pillow pile caught her eye. She picked up a small teddy bear, turning it over. It looked kind of familiar.
"Robin! All my-" Amalia came into the living room, only to pause at the doorway. "You took my pillows!"
"You did not guard them adequately."

The Guild Codex - Demonized #2: Slaying Monsters for the Feeble by Annette Marie
Synopsis:
"I'm bound to a demon.
For my entire life, I avoided magic at all costs. Now, I'm responsible for a demon who wields magic more powerful than the toughest mage or sorcerer.
Demons are evil.
That's what my textbooks say. That's what I see. He's ruthless, he's temperamental, he's cold. But he protects me without fail. I wonder if he's hiding a heart behind his hostility.
My demon is a monster."
I came across someone who had a Wasgij? advent calendar puzzle set. The concept was 25 mini puzzles, the "photo" of the puzzle was actually a "hint" showing the scene 10 min prior to the picture on the puzzle pieces.
This of course made me think of Zylas et Vh'alyir. I think if I was a neighbor for them, who has some vague clairvoyant magic. What if ...
I had new neighbors and my magic dreamed up some housewarming gifts for their apartment. Bonus points of I don't realize I have magic/think I am a human: I just think I have excellent instinct/luck with these sorts of things.
Without knowing who is moving in. I go out and show up with a bag containing organic madagascar vanilla beans, saffron and saigon cinnamon, a 1000 piece Wasgij? Puzzle (or alternative. See Reddit post link below. Please let me know if there is an option you think Zylas would like on this theoretical story) and a set of catnip mice.
I can see Robin politely accepting the gift and heading back in after some small talk. Only to go WTF. Q the debate between Robin and Zylas on if this is a bribe or a threat. What do they know? And debating with Zylas on if the correct response is to bake cookies and send one of them over, or to interrogate/ threaten.
This is all just silly/fun thoughts at the moment. I would love to hear anyone's thoughts on the ideas, gifts, story ideas, puzzles, etc
