I’m not a big fan of the whole Batman goes to Apokolips in crazy bat-armour to resurrect Robin storyline. It has its good points, and it’s a perfectly good read but I am not one for Batman cosmic adventures- I want Gothic architecture, alleyways and steam rising from vents on the sidewalk, for the most part.
Yet, strangely, I am OK with a cat apparently leading a Bat-Cow out of the Batcave with a rope in its mouth. Hardly urban noir is it? But it makes me smile- and is a nice counterpoint to resurrection and violence- and hope that the cat is called Bat-Cat because all animals in the cave need to be called Bat plus species (even Ace was the Bat-Hound) and also because it would then have its own Mogwai soundtrack to prowl around to (https://youtu.be/KMDCM5OAOaE). Which would make it the coolest post-rock sound-tracked, cow herding superhero sidekick cat since, well, ever. Streaky the Supercat would have nothing on this guy.
Give the feline his own mini-series. Hell, give him his own movie- it’s a guaranteed winner!
