Young Justice Mini Series - Episode 9 - Date of Disaster

With Zatanna grounded for life after the Red Volcano fiasco, she was sitting on her room, bored while stuck with her homework. "If only I wasn't grounded for life, maybe I could do something fun."

Then she heard a thud. She turned around to see a stone flying towards her bedroom window. Then Zatanna opens it to see who that was. It was Robin, only wearing a sweater and dark sunglasses. "Hey, Zee. Feeling underwhelmed?"

"Robin?" Zatanna said. Although very shocked that he knew where she lived. But she also found it cute. "How did you get here?" She asked.

"Oh, I have my ways." Robin responded.

"Sneaky, but very cool. Well, I am still grounded. And Dad is now away for the next show. And yes, I'm underwhelmed. This place feels smaller right now." Zatanna sighed.

"Well, you're in luck. Cause I'm taking you out for fun." Said Robin. Zatanna was surprised that Batman's protege was offering something sneaky.

"As in a date?" She asked.

"Well, you can call it whatever you want. It doesn't have to be." He replied. Excited, Zatanna grabbed a rope to climb down, but not before summoning a duplicate of herself. "Etacilpud flesym!" The clone of herself appeared.

"Stay there when Dad gets home." The duplicate of Zatanna nods and waved her goodbye. Zatanna then climbs down to join Robin in the fun. Then she hops onto his motorcycle and held onto his back. "Ready?" Asked Robin, who gave her a helmet. "Let's go." She replied and the two sped off.

The first thing they did was watching a horror movie, but they weren't allowed to watch it due to being under the age of 17. So Zatanna teleports herself and Robin inside the room where the movie was shown. But the moment they see the jump scare part, they screamed. "Ahhh!" They held onto each other tightly. Then a security tapped their shoulders, telling them to get out.

Next was the fair where the two are in a Ferris's wheel, enjoying the view. Until the joints in the middle of the wheel snapped loose and rolled away like a hamster ball with Robin and Zatanna on it. "Ahhh!"

Next they were at some kind of ship, dancing to the party music. Until Icicle Jr. had to ruin the moment by freezing passengers in sight. Robin was the first to get involve into a fight. Using acrobatics to avoid his ice beams. Until the boy wonder was hit and frozen in ice. This made Zatanna angry as she used a spell to sent him to prison. "Dnes rj it elleb ever niaga!"

A portal underneath Icicle Jr. And he fell through it and was sent back to Belle Reve prison. Where his father, Icicle Sr. folded his arms in disappointment. "You know, Jr. Back in my day, your ma was the best partner in crime." He remarked.

After taking Zatanna back home. She turned to the Boy Wonder. "Thanks a lot, Boy Wonder. It was a lot of fun."

"Feeling whelmed now?" Asked Robin. Zatanna then kissed him on the cheek in response. Making him blush. "Officially whelmed." She replied. Then they heard a cough.

"Ahem!" It was Zatanna's father, Zatara. They stood shocked.

"Hey...Dad...How's the show tonight?" She said nervously.

"Hey, Mr. Zatara!" Waved Robin. Zatara was not pleased that someone snuck his daughter out of the house and cast a spell to send him home. "You head home, now! Dnes nibor emoh!" Just like that, Robin disappeared.

Then Zatara turned to Zatanna. "And you, you are still grounded!" Zatanna returned to her room, reluctantly. Needless to say that her father was too overprotective when it comes to teenagers. As Zatanna returned to her room, she received a text from Robin after exchanging numbers.

Robin: Glad you have fun, Z.

Zatanna smiled and replied the message.

Zatanna: Thanks for that. Let's do it again sometime.

With Part 2 of Season 4 of Young Justice coming out and still no sign of Chalant, I feel like us shippers need a place to talk, chill or just complain. So I'm thinking of setting up a Discord server. Anyone interested?

Scarlet Geranium

The alarms woke Dick before the booming clap of thunder did. The rain was so loud he could hear it as well as the hail being carried by the harsh winds torrenting on the house. The storm was here.

"I'll go get the kids. You should turn off all the lights." His beautiful wife woke up after the second wave of the siren. Even still sleepy she was up and hurrying to the room adjacent to theirs to wake the kids. Quickly following after her, he went about the house turning off the lights and A/C and unplugging whatever felt necessary.

They've been watching this storm for a while. Though it wasn't caused by any supernatural or villainous means, it could still cause danger to those who could get caught out in it. Dick and Zatanna have been on standby with the others to help the city in case it came their way and it looks like it did.

When he returned to their shared bedroom Mary and John were standing at the foot of their bed while Zatanna milled about the room.

"Dad, what's going on?" Mary, his 7-year old ran up to him. Her hair was a little messy from a rough sleep but her eyes were wide and alert, clutching her stuffed toy robin close to her chest in one hand and holding onto her little brother's with the other.

"It's a really bad storm, little birdy." Dick crouched down to be on level with the brunette whose eyes reflected his in every way. "Your mom and I have to go help the people who might've gotten caught in it."

"Tcetorp siht emoh." There was a glitter in the air as the spell took effect. The air felt charged with a new energy.

"We wanna help too!" John spoke up, his toy wand plushie held close to his chest in the opposite hand to his sisters, though unlike her he was still sleepy if the way his eyes drooped every now and then was anything to go by.

"It's too dangerous." Zatanna crouched down beside him as she reached out to adjust the collars of their pajamas. "We'd feel better if we knew that both of you were safe."

"But-"

"No buts."

"Hmph!" Mary huffed. Everyone says that Mary takes after him, but he definitely sees Zatanna in her.

"Egnahc su otni ruo smrofinu." Magic swirled around them and in the next second they were Nightwing and Zatanna, the heroes.

"Tropelet su ot eht taB evaC!"

In a swirl of blue smoke they were gone from their bedroom and the spacious but tech filled Bat Cave. Alfred and Damien were standing by the Supercomputer.

"Be good." They both bent down to hug them in a group hug.

"Yes ma'am."

"You too Damien." Dick gave his brother a crossed look.

"Whatever Grayson."

Zatanna stepped back. "Ekat em dna gniwthgiN otni eht mrots."

dick/zatanna in the same cover!! does this mean we'll get some interactions of them outside the yj tv series??? i always wanted to see them interact in the tnba series 😭
