this is lodolite, or garden quartz, and all those pretty little blooms inside are actually ores! similar to moss agate, which has mostly copper and iron if I remember correctly

also similar to flower agate, although I don't quite remember what's inside. The agates specifically are basically volcanic glass, which is how the ore got trapped inside them in the first place!

Today is officially the first day of October, so you know what that means? I'm getting back into the groove drawing with an Inktober challenge everyday! Since last year my theme was skeletons, this year I'm going with one of my favorite things next to skeletons: aliens! 👽 I'm calling it Extraterrestrial October!~

To kick off Extraterrestrial October, we have everyone's favorite rock nerd: Peridot from Steven Universe! In her alien boxers, fittingly enough. 💚

I'm hoping that I'll be able to stay loyal to this project, I have a whole list of aliens and I look forward to drawing every single one. But now that I have a job and I have less energy and free time, it may be a challenge. It was so easy last year because I was sitting around the house with nothing better to do. If ya girl starts to fall behind, plz encourage me to keep going. It would be a huge help.~ Thanks for all the support guys, we have an exciting October ahead. 💜

Got to go rockhounding in Colorado this Friday! I finally got my hands on Gem Trails of Colorado and hit up two spots from it. Both were in south central Colorado, one near Saguache and one near Parlin, both had some amazing finds but I think Parlin was overall more rewarding. It supposedly has tourmaline and I've got my fingers crossed about some green and pink crystals I found... I'll post pictures as I get the rocks cleaned up. Right now they're still covered in dirt in bags in my backseat XD
