Join us here on www.upliftconnect.com on November 23rd to view the whole thing.
In a campaign personally endorsed by Yoko Ono, who is famously active in the fight against fracking [unsafe coal seam gas mining], Rock The Gate will be the biggest concert of its kind ever to be held in Australia. Featuring killer sets from national treasures Pete Murray, The Herd, Ash Grunwald, Tex Perkins And The Dark Horses, Natalie Pa’apa’a [Blue King Brown] and Diesel n’ Dub — as well as visiting US artists and vocal supporters of the anti-fracking movement, Nahko [Nahko & Medicine For The People] and Trevor Hall —all Rock The Gate ticket proceeds go directly to Lock The Gate. An iconic event to be held at Sydney’s legendary Enmore Theatre, Rock The Gate will soon reveal even more of its’ incredible program featuring comedians, indigenous dancers, slam poets, as well as an eclectic mix of music from alt-country, blues, jazz and electronica artists encompassing FIVE venues and numerous cafes and businesses surrounding The Enmore.
Pete Murray will be one of the headline acts
Rock The Gate and its associated program of arts, music, dance, spoken word and comedy — interspersed with messages from community members affected by the fracking industry, speakers from Lock the Gate alliance, and artists around the world — aim to include every Australian in the conversation that artists, scientists, indigenous communities, farmers and environmentalists are having regarding the dangers of fracking, and what it means for our country.
With 53% of Australia under fracking exploration license, and the international community condemning the Australian government’s policy of facilitating the dangerous practice, Rock The Gate shines a light on the seriously troubling reality of unsafe coal seam gas mining in a beautifully Australian way: with a day-long, and loud, street party!
