#Repost @rockcandyoly (@get_repost) ・・・ Our next Candy is the performer of many personas: Peachy LaFever!Peachy got the hankering for drag and burlesque almost 13 years ago, and has performed at events in Philadelphia and the Pacific Northwest. In 2007, she helped found Liberty City Kings (LiCK), Philadelphia’s award-winning queer drag and burlesque troupe. With LiCK, Peachy and her various drag king alter egos (Sven Handelsbod, Lance Fennig, and the Reverend Pat Fermass) appeared at such venues as the Diabolique and Libertine Balls, Philadelphia Pride, Vixens and Vagabonds Queer and Kinky Cabaret, and the Pleasure Garden. Moving West in 2010, Peachy performed in Olympia,Seattle, and Portland. Peachy is a founding member of Olympia, Washington’s Rock Candy Burlesque and continues to bring her mix of adorkable nerdiness, comedy, and glamour to their monthly and quarterly shows. Besides Rock Candy, she and her other personas have performed at the NOLOSE Conference, Frolicon, Debauchery, Brutalesque, and the Capital Pride King and Queen Contest. Originally from Lima, Peru, Frida is a graduate of Miss Indigo Blue's Academy of Burlesque. She co-founded Olympia Own Tush! burlesque in 2009, where she performed on the stages of The South Sound until 2013, when she semi-retired her performing to complete her Master Degree. She has been emceeing for Rock Candy Burlesque on a semi regular basis since 2014 and became an official troupe member in early 2017. Frida is embracing this new found way of connecting to the audience and enjoying a continued way of being a part of the burlesque community. She makes jewelry, costumes, and fascinators, specializing in elaborate headdresses. Her creations can be found at Hot Toddy and Gallery Boom. In collaboration with Heather Schofner Photography, headdresses have been featured in Gilded Magazine.
