Once Netto has glanced at Rockman in his PET, it’s time for some great reaction artwork to begin today’s part 4 of EXE Episode 41 storyboards. First, Netto is absolutely stunned at Rock’s transformation:
The screen then cuts in half to show Meiru with a similar reaction, upon checking in on Roll. Feels weird looking back to see her with a standard blue Rockman color Plug-In PET, because once Axess hits, you get so used to seeing everyone with their custom colors; pink in Meiru’s case. But I like how the artists over-exaggerated these expressions, especially when compared to the storyboard faces:
Then they zoom out from the tight closeup on their faces to a half-body, shocked look:
Really kids, all you are freaking out about is a pair of ears?:
Rockman has evolved into Rocknyan! He loves anything that shines! He especially adores zenny coins that he picks up and secretly hoards:
Roll has evolved into Meowll! Meowll’s adorably cute behavior makes it highly popular:
*Also as a bonus, after the storyboards in today’s post, there are genga of these two Navi’s paw grooming poses! Lick them hands clean!*
After the closeup on their newly hatched Tamagatchi, we zoom back out to the full PET view:

Owner sweatdrops ensue, and they seem to be getting larger. Definitely over exaggerated again, compared to the storyboard size:

I love how the storyboarder just stopped drawing Rock and Roll for this storyboard frame, and just seemingly drew actual two cat heads. However, the lead artists made sure to actually have Rock and Roll in this frame in the end:
Then it’s time for the rest of the gang to chime in, worried about the sudden change to their Navis. Going down the PET screen, Dekao, Yaito and Tohru all pop up in separate windows:
What, it’s happened to everyone’s Navis? But Netto and Meiru don’t look as shocked here, as they were with their own Navi’s, sadly:
The scene finally shifts, as the gang’s Navis all meet in the Net, in what looks to be a vast space background, full of floating ice cubes of data, with upside-down martini glasses acting as platforms. Or is this the universe where Goku and friends will battle the Navis in a special Net Battling Tournament, determining the fate of their Universes? ‘Cause it kinda looks like that, too:
