A lot of people don't like the idea of Buggy being Xebec's son for various reasons (fair!). The one I see the most is the whole "Nepo Piece" argument. The fact that it seems all the major players have to come from a special lineage annoys people (again, fair!).

But I don't think Buggy being Xebec's son would fall into that category. For it to be nepotism, Buggy would have to have gotten to where he is off the back of his father, but that isn't the case.

It's likely that if Xebec is his father, it's unknown or at least not widely known. Maybe Buggy himself doesn't even know.

If that's the case, then that's not nepotism. Buggy got where he is himself with luck and charisma, and not because of who his father is.

Following this post about the theory that Buggy is Rocks’s clone.

Imagine that buggy’s cloning was a fail and not only from his appearance but also personality making him be his own person.

But during a battle where Buggy is cornered by Imu’s forces or an upgraded Seraphim , his body starts “reverting” and his devil fruits awakens. not just to split endlessly, but to channel the demonic corruption Imu inflicted on the original Xebec. ((Assuming that when they took Rocks’ DNA is was corrupted by Imu)) Buggy’s detached parts grow monstrous, he unconsciously radiates Conqueror’s Haki on a Rocks-level scale, and he briefly becomes a giant clown-demon hybrid that terrifies even the Gorosei.

Want some angst?

Imagine that after Buggy is defeated or stopped in some way, his body starts to self-disintegrate. He was a failed experiment after all and when he reached the limited his body was not able to handle it , or maybe it just fulfilled what it was made for. His body very slowly flacking away.

Buggy stares in disbelief, eyes widened in that familiar mix of panic and theatrical outrage.

“W-wait—hey! This ain’t funny! I just saved your asses and now my body’s quitting on me like some cheap prop?!” He tried to laugh, but it came out wet and cracking.

And Shanks He would feel raw devastation mixed with tender regret, heartbreaking grief of the romantic future he secretly dreamed of but was dissolving before his eyes, yet a quiet warmth that he could hold Buggy one last time.

“Buggy… don’t you dare leave me,” Shanks whispered, voice breaking. Tears ran down his face as he pressed his forehead to Buggy’s fading one. “I love you! Not just as a crewmate. I loved you more! like that… and I….I never..I never got to tell you properly.”

And Rayleigh? Kneeling beside what remained of Buggy, his coat draped protectively over the disintegrating body. To him, Buggy had always been his son, the toddler he raised on the Oro Jackson, the boy he taught and protected. The clone truth changed nothing; his love was unconditional and fierce

“Easy, lad,” Rayleigh said softly, gathering the floating particles with trembling hands and press them back against Buggy hoping it would connect again. “You’re my boy. Always have been.”

Assuming the Rocks D Buggy theory does end up being true, that means Nemo is Xebec's grandson.

Something that... honestly begins to make more and more sense when you consider just how much anarchist rage is brewing within this baby whose laughs often veer towards maniacal.

He has his bottle but his thirst for the blood of the God's knights has yet to be quenched. 🍼

Add on top of this babies creepy ability to see ghosts we explored with Ace and suddenly some of Nemo's oddest behaviours makes sense.

Not all of it mind you. He may think the headless man is funny but he doesn’t listen to his every word. In fact, he often does the opposite which usually results in extra snuggles and love for his Baba and Dada.

Xebec sees this as complete rejection of his grandfather and absolute disrespect…HE COULDN'T BE MORE PROUD OF THE LITTLE SLUGGER! HE'D BE MOWING DOWN THE UPPER ECHELON IN NO TIME!

I have been thinking a lot about the {Buggy son of Rocks D Xebec theory} and now I’m starting to give up on it but not the way that Buggy is not connected to him in any way, but rather that Buggy’s connection to Rocks might be through other thing.

What if Buggy was Rocks D Xebec’s Clone?

Like imagine the WG trying to understand the well of D by cloning the pirate who almost ruled it all and cloning him but instead of making full grown clones they made him an infant and tried to raise him from there to study and maybe if there was potential control him.

That Buggy’s nose and hair was an error in developing the appearance but somehow the Roger pirates found him? Maybe a while after finding Shanks?

Shanks: I’m telling you Shammy he is a dream come true, I feel silly even saying this but he is so beautiful, funny and so charismatic, when you see him interacting sure you’ll like him too!

Shamrock: Doubt it.

Shanks: Don’t be like that!

Shamrock: Shanks, you’re talking about a blood thirsty deranged pirate as if he was a knight from a fantasy book.

Shanks, Le gasped: He’s not blood thirsty, he doesn’t even like the sight of blood! My blue just likes treasure and care about his hygiene I know I checked~

Shamrock: ….Charming….at least your standards aren’t so low that you’d over look the pirates filth.

Shanks: That’s a hurtful stereotype, Shammy. I thought you’re above this.

Shamrock: The last thing I’ll care about is a pirate’s feelings get hurt. Are you doing this just to piss off our father?

Shanks: maybe a little bit, but I really love him! I even proposed to him!

Shamrock: You asked a Yonko to marry you!!?

Shanks, bitter about the last comment: probably were too afraid to run away from you ugly mugging them.

Uta, in shock:…..Dad…

Shanks, regretting it: Yes baby?

Uta: if you don’t want papa to be a widower I think you should run and hide for couple of months.

Shanks: …uhuh….

[cue Oldman!Xebec chasing Shanks who’s is disparate to avoid the wooden club with rusty nails that is always inches from his head]

Uta, watching from the window: is dad gonna die?

Buggy, petting her head: your Pop Pop just wants to scare him, he knows you love your dad too much to kill.

Uta:……yeeeaaahhh…

Oldman!Xebec: Is that Shiki? Slow down your boat let me talk to him for a sec.

Buggy: Yeah, sure- STOP CALLING MY SHIP A BOAT!!

Oldman!Xebec, ignoring him: Hey you bald some of a b*tch! They haven’t killed you yet?

Shiki: Well, damn I was about to ask you the same thing, who are you riding with? Did you take some poor pirate hostage or something?

Shiki: Thank you, I try to keep her floating, but you know what is crazy?….. on some random days I find a bag of flaming dog sh*t in front of my cabin door!

Oldman!Xebec, shocked: What?! Who could do such a thing? And with you? You could take an entire fleet down how can someone do that in your own ship?!

Shiki: I don’t know?! I thought maybe it was mutiny from one of my men, I killed a few that I suspected, but I still keep finding bags of flaming sh*t in front of my door!!!

Oldman!Xebec: those damned ungrateful underdogs, pirates these days have no respect for their captain!!

Shiki, nodding in agreement: They don’t act as they used too, Rocks.

Oldman!Xebec: Well, I hope you can catch those bastard and teach them a lesson on not to mess with the golden lion! I’ll even make my twink boy here keep an eye open for any suspicious acts here and there for you.

Shiki: I appreciate that, Rocks, you’ve always been a real captain.

[BigTop sails away from Shiki’s ship]

Buggy, suspicious: What’s with that shit eating grin of yours?

Oldman!Xebec, laughing : because I’m the one who has been leaving flaming dog sh*t at in front of his cabin! HAHAHAHA!!!

Buggy, panicking: are you insane? How?! WHEN!? Wasn’t he one of your crew why would you do that?!

Oldman!Xebec: what do you mean why? Did you not see his face, that bald f*cker has no idea! He killed his on crew thinking it’s one of them when it’s his former captain all along!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Buggy: I should not be surprised, you diabolical bastard.

Oldman!Xebec: now take me back home and get me more paper bags….wanna know what I will do with them?

Buggy: I don’t even want to know.

Oldman!Xebec: …..I will put Sh*t in them and sneak into Shiki’s ship to burn them….
