“It’s like, everything just goes away when I drink. The edginess, the sadness, the hate. It just....It just disappears.” You lifted the bottle of gin to your lips, taking a large gulp. You had opted to hang out in the his house, it was the best place after all. It was, after all, a low-vampire zone and truth be told, how many people had actually gone to his house often? You slumped on the floor, back pressed against the couch. 

“N/A. At this rate you’ll be finishing that bottle.”

“Well, I wouldn’t if you drank with me.”

“Give me that.” Matt snatched the bottle from your hands while you had it near your mouth again, you leaned  forward, trying to grab it back. You didn’t understand the problem, he had been drinking too, so what was the big deal? You scooted forward and dropped your feet on his lap, looking at him. Matt was one of your oldest friends, oldest and your only really, the “vampires” he hanged out with were too wrapped up in their drama and besides Matt, you only really found comfort in Bon-Bon and Jere, humans. “You think you’re the only one with problems?”

“No, you know that, you just shared your prob-”

“Stop. Do you have anything else other than all this hate and everything? Anything positive?” He tilted his head, dropping the bottle of gin on the table, just out of your reach. You frowned, shrugged. 

“Sometimes...I guess I have hope?” 

“Good. I would tell you it’s okay to have hope. Because sometimes that’s all that keeps me going. Swallowing your sorrow in liquor isn’t going to help you, I am, do you understand?”

“What?” You sounded confused, your head tilted to the side, you stared at him through a tipsy haze. What was he trying to say?

“Whenever you feel like you need to drink, not just want, need, just...call me. Or find me, something. Because one day, you’ll get really drunk and you won’t know where you are in the morning and I’ll say I told you so, I don’t want that.

The blonde had had a pretty good time at the town-wide event she’d attended, she met a good handful of new friends, and re-connected with old, and as the evening had worn on, she’d found that she hadn’t been able to last as long as thought she’d be able to. Jen didn’t really remember when she’d drifted off, but when she came to, she found herself slumped over, leaning on a new acquaintance; Zach Roerig. Grousing slightly, she shifted and leaned into him a little more before she peeped through half-lidded eyes, up at him, “Have I been asleep long?” she asked awkwardly, rubbing her eyes before she shifted and straightened up, “Sorry I fell asleep on you...” she gave a half-hearted smile.

hey, i want to read the series you drew that illustration for but i clicked on it and i don't understand what's part of the series and what isn't? there's so many i don't know which is the beginning :x

Hi! That is a perfectly valid question; it's a very long series with many installments, and my post isn't very helpful in sorting them out.

Okay. So basically, this is the main story:

your blue-eyed boys

It's posted as a series, but is really just one long Steve/Bucky fic in several parts.

The story I drew the fanart for is actually part of a long series of side stories set in the same universe:

These stories are sorted in chronological order and go all the way back to when Steve and Bucky were kids, as well as including some parts that explore other characters: OCs, Tony, etc.

Basically, if you haven't read the series before, you would do best to start with the first link up there (your blue-eyed boys) and proceed from there. :)
