what are the odds of yesterday's nation-wide phone/internet outage will finally get parliament to do something, anything, about fixing the telecommunications triopoly that they had been warned for years would result in something like this?

we pay some of the highest prices in the world for phone and internet services for what? a system with shitty service that has 0 redundancy in place to protect us from nation-wide outages that renders everything from basic cell service and point of sale terminals to schools and hospitals to life-saving emergency response lines unusable
