Placing Friezes on Any Wall Height - Post RoM Patch (it’s back baby!)
This is one of those things I have been constantly asked about when posting some of my builds (particularly Bradford Square) and was sad to say the undocumented feature was removed with the terrain patch. Some of you may not know but I am a GC (I just don’t scream about it) and this was one feature I wanted to get back for the builders. It really is something simple that can really make a build so I have been petitioning to show how much interest it got and for it to be included as an official feature, and guess what? It worked. Thank you to the gurus who put up with me for wanting this back.
Anyway, it really is quite simple process to add this to any build. Just be mindful of sims routing when doing this, OK?
Method:
Build you house to a point where you are done adjusting wall heights ect.
if you don’t have the highest wall height on the lot put it somewhere to get access to all frieze types. Either a wall segment like here,or adjust a lower level to the highest setting. Do not adjust the level you want the frieze on.
with your desired frieze actively chosen and holding down shift, place frieze wall segment by wall segment....
Until you are done. You are now free to delete the wall segment or change a room back to original height.
if you want to delete the frieze completely and the hammer tool is not working (happens on shortest height walls with tall friezes), just adjust the wall height to remove. If you want to change frieze type, just put new one over the old type.
This uploads to the gallery perfectly, the only thing that is noted that changing the room the frieze is placed on can remove it, hence why I said get the build to a state where you aren’t adjusting heights anymore.
Anyway, go free and build little birdies, and enjoy!
