Prompted Used: Roman and Virgil hate each other, they’re always at each other’s throats and arguing at any given opportunity. But they’re also super attracted to each other which leads to them hate fucking against any surface they can at any moment, still half arguing.

Your Attention Please - Roman's Week. (Day 4: Royality)
Warnings: Daddy Kink, DD/LB, Spanking, Fighting
Prompt Used: Roman is Patton’s baby boy. He’s always wanting to please his daddy but more often than not he’s getting himself in trouble and then being punished, Patton doesn’t feel so bad when Roman brings it upon himself.
Prompt Used: Roman gets fed up with Deceit’s teasing and is too impatient to even make it to the bedroom. He rides Deceit right then and there on the couch in the living room.
Prompt Used: Roman finds himself being fucked between Patton and Logan, a little overwhelmed with the dual sensations but thoroughly enjoying it too. Plus, Patton and Logan aren’t shy to take their own pleasure as well as making sure Roman is enjoying himself.
Prompt Used: Roman starts dominating Virgil and Logan while their ‘daddy’ and ‘sir’ – Patton and Deceit – aren’t present. It goes very well until afterwards; Patton and Deceit are waiting for Roman right outside their bedroom door and give him no time to explain himself before he’s being punished for being a greedy brat.
Okay, I’m not going to make it for Roman’s week. Sorry darling, I had two retake exams to focus on. I’m posting this now, part two will follow soon! Also, if anyone knows how to link to other posts, please teach me. I wanna know :)
Here’s Roman’s appreciation week, day five, prompt c: Roman’s ego is destroyed. How will the others respond and will he be able to bounce back from it?
Summary: Roman is on a quest to slay a wicked witch. Not all goes according to plan, and he is forced to realize that he is not the hero to everyone’s story.
Pairings: none.
Warnings/triggers: fighting, minor injuries, blood. Let me know if anything else needs to be tagged.
Words: 3821.
Roman was ecstatic. The hooves of his horse drummed on the ground beneath him and the wind played with his hair. His eyes were narrowed due to the speed at which he travelled and a grin was plastered on his face. He felt so alive right now!
His quest of the moment was nothing new, really. A witch had been tormenting towns and villages in the east, and prince Roman was on his way to save the day. He had slain countless witches and monsters before, but adventures like these never failed to make him feel like a child in a toy store. After all, he got to do what he liked to do best: dispel of evil. Save the day. Be a hero.
It was late in the afternoon, and the timing of his arrival could not have been better. Roman imagined the townspeople, feeling anxious and scared because of the near danger. And then they’d turn to the west and see him arrive, illuminated by the light of the setting sun. And he would see their expressions turn from sorrowful to hopeful, as they would gather to welcome him into their midst. This he had experienced countless times, as well, but it always made him feel warm and happy inside.
He drove his horse through the arc that signalled the entrance of the town and pulled on the reins. A circle of townspeople had already formed and a chorus of ‘oh’s and ‘ah’s ensued when his horse rose on its hind legs at the sudden pull. The animal landed its front legs in the mud and remained there, panting with their head low. Roman looked over the people that had gathered and his chest swelled as he took in all the adoring looks he received.
“My people,” he exclaimed with a smile, raising his arm in a wide gesture. “I have travelled here to rid you of a vile creature!” As he dismounted, he heard excited whispers of his name and title. The people clearly knew of his reputation, of how he’d fought with countless enemies and always ended up victorious.
The crowd parted for a slightly old man who made his way to the royal and promptly kneeled before him. “Y-your highness,” he spoke in a hoarse voice, “I cannot thank you enough for coming to save us.”
“No need to thank me yet, I have yet to slay it. Please, get up now,” Roman smiled as he helped the older man up. From the corner of his eyes he noticed how the people in the crowd relaxed their tensed shoulders slightly and smiled at each other. “Does anyone know where I may find the witch?” he asked in a loud voice.
It didn’t take long for him to learn all he needed to know: the witch had a hideout somewhere in the nearby mountains. The terrain made it impossible for the townspeople to give chase whenever she struck. At the advice of the people, Roman decided to leave his horse behind and travel on foot.
He confidently walked towards the mountain passage, being accompanied partway by the children. Some proclaimed they wanted to be a hero like him when they grew up, whereas others wished him good luck in the upcoming battle. All held looks of adoration and respect for him. Roman ruffled a couple of kids’ hair, openly encouraging their dreams. Even though they were part of the world he had created and had their own role to play in the grand design, it filled him with delight to see them dreaming.
It was already dusk when he found the witch. Or rather, when she found him. She must have realized he was approaching and laid in wait to ambush him. It was only his quick reflexes that saved him when a red glowing something darted towards him. He rolled to the side and rose to his feet in one swift movement, drawing his sword a second after. There was a black burn mark on the ground where he had just walked.
A wicked cackle resounded all around him, the echo making it near impossible to pinpoint where it came from. “Show yourself, you coward!” he shouted. Another red bolt of something struck at him, and he expertly dodged it once more. That’s when his opponent revealed itself.
He could see she was female, with long black hair that surrounded her face. She was clad in a plain black dress, which contrasted her stark white skin. Her face could have been beautiful, if not for the slightly too big and pointy nose, and the evil glint in her blood red eyes. The twisted grin also marred her face into something hideous. Roman narrowed his eyes and pointed his sword at her.
“Halt, you wretched woman,” he exclaimed. “I have come to stop your wicked deeds. Prepare to die!” Another blast was aimed at him, but he managed to deflect it with a well-aimed swing of his sword.
“I’m afraid now is not a good time. Kindly scram to wherever you came from!” The witch’s voice was smoother than he’d expected, and she sounded younger than the other witches he had fought before. Not that that changed anything. She was still a wicked woman who terrorized the innocent people of his kingdom, and he would stop her.
He dashed forward, expertly dodging the attacks that his enemy sent at him. Maybe it was due to her young age, but she was slow and inaccurate with her attacks, and evading them was an easy feat. Roman swung his sword as soon as she was in his reach, and the witch only narrowly managed to avoid his attack by dropping to the ground. Instead of getting back up, she planted her hand on the ground with her fingers spread, as if she was drawing power from it. A split second later, the prince realized that she was not drawing power from it, but putting her power in it. A boundary of fire erupted between her fingers and immediately spread between Roman and his enemy.
The bottom of his trousers caught fire, and the prince was forced to move back. The burning fabric scorched his legs and he hissed in pain while sinking to his knees and hitting the flames until they were quenched. Then he glared at the woman behind the patch of burning ground. The heat and smoke disformed her figure, but he could see her well enough to know that she was still there.
His legs hurt from the burns, and even though he knew his skin would be perfectly healed after this adventure was over, it still hurt for the moment. The mere thought of an enemy landing a hit on him was disgraceful, and he would not let them get away with it. He would slay this witch even if it was the last thing he did.
However, the fire was indeed a problem. It was too dangerous to leap over it, even for him. This witch could control the fire as she pleased, so she would likely stop him if he approached recklessly. But he had nothing on him that could quench the flames, and going back to the village would give his enemy the chance to flee, which was simply unacceptable.
So, Roman was faced with a dilemma. He locked eyes with the witch on the other side of the flames and if looks could kill, she would have dropped dead right on the spot. A rumble from above drew both their gazes upwards, and they were met with dark grey clouds. A broad, victorious grin emerged on the prince’s face when big, round rain droplets fell from the sky. The flame barrier sizzled and shrank quickly at the increasing water load. The two people locked eyes once more, and Roman looked down smugly on the evil creature opposite him.
The stare off only lasted a second, before the witch swiped her hands through the flames, pushed herself off of the ground and dashed away. Roman immediately gave chase, jumping over the vanishing flame barrier. “You cannot escape your fate, you vile witch,” he yelled triumphantly as he closed the distance. “Good will always triumph over evil.”
The witch managed to get to higher ground and entered one of the caves that littered the mountainscape right before Roman had caught up to her. Now sheltered from the rain, she turned around for another attack. But this was what the royal had expected, and he was more than ready to deflect the attack she sent at him.
However, instead of another blast of the red something she’d sent at him earlier, now he was merely faced with a cloud of thick, black smoke. That wouldn’t have phased him normally, but his sword cut right through the cloud instead of deflecting it. And because Roman was so close, the black stuff got into his eyes and lungs, temporary blinding him and leaving him short of breath. He faltered reflexively, and while he was coughing he felt how his wrists were locked in an iron grip.
A hot iron grip.
He opened his eyes and saw through the tears how the witched had grabbed both his wrists. Her red eyes glowed hatefully at him and she hissed words through her teeth. Her skin was searingly hot where it touched his, and Roman was in too much pain to focus on what she was saying. He wanted to scream, he wanted to let go of his weapon. To drop to his knees and cry.
But he was a prince, a hero, and he could not allow evil to defeat him. And neither could he let down his people, who all believed that he would save them from this contemptible creature. So, he gritted his teeth and moved his arms to break free. Every movement made him want to scream out in pain. It quickly became apparent that he wouldn’t be able to break free this way, so Roman did the next best thing: he attacked.
His sword was still clutched in his right hand, and even though there was no way to stab or cut his enemy down, there was one thing he could do. With all the strength he could muster, Roman brought down his sword hand until it collided with the witch’s left temple. The next moments passed in slow motion.
The figure of the witch went limp as she collapsed on the ground before him.
Roman fell to his knees in exhaustion.
And before his knees even touched the ground, something like lightning seemed to strike in his brain and everything went bl-
Roman blinked blearily, trying to figure out what was going on. His head was throbbing painfully and he momentarily closed his eyes to suppress the ache. It was dark, he was cold and his body hurt. What happened to bring him to this state?
He slowly pushed himself up to a sitting position, careful not to aggravate his headache, and looked around. He was in the cave where he’d fought with the witch. He stood up and slowly walked towards the opening, noticing the increasing noise of the rain as he did so. He squinted at the darkness and looked outside. A conveniently timed flash of lightning lit up the area around him, and Princey quickly deduced that he wouldn’t be going anywhere right now. The heavy rainfall in itself was enough to make any traveller have second thoughts, but it had also made the ground muddy and slippery. This, combined with the darkness of the night, meant that going outside now would be the equivalent of throwing his life away.
He sighed and turned back to examine the cave, another conveniently timed lightning strike illuminating his surroundings. This cave appeared to be the witch’s hideout, as he could see several signs of a person living here. There was a stone circle with ashes inside, and Roman suddenly realized how cold he was. He spotted a stack of chopped up wood and quickly went about building a fire. His efforts were not very fruitful, because it appeared the witch only kept big logs, not the smaller kindling-wood that would be needed to start the fire. Roman tried his best with his tinder, but the wood would not catch fire. He grumbled under his breath about his bad luck, until his thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a clear voice.
“Calico.”
It sounded from right behind him, firm and authorative, and he felt dread in his stomach when he recognised the voice. Something dropped in front of him, something orange and blinding, and the prince snapped out of his reverie. He dove to the side, smoothly rolling away and standing up to avoid any attack his enemy might have aimed at his back. His hand was on his sword, and he narrowed his eyes at the woman standing next to the burning fireplace.
Wait. Burning? How had she- oh. Nevermind.
Speaking of the woman, she stared at him with a surprised expression. Neither of them moved for two seconds, but then the witch started laughing. No evil cackling, but genuine laughter. She brought a hand up to cover her mouth, but her quiet giggles filled the silence between them.
Roman was taken aback for a moment, but then he aimed his sword at her, stepping closer. “It seems I hadn’t disposed of you properly,” he told her with a frown. “Allow me to correct my mistake.”
“Easy there, Your Highness,” the witch smiled. It was not a comforting smile, but not a purely evil one, either. The way she used his title seemed casual, but held just a little too much condescension to be friendly. “You will regret acting rashly, I assure you.”
By now Roman had his sword against her neck, but the witch’s smile didn’t falter in the slightest. Somehow her laidback behaviour annoyed him. “Cease your slander,” he told her.
The woman chuckled and took the blade of his sword in her hand, casually sliding it across her neck. A thin red line appeared and blood slowly trickled from the non-fatal wound. Roman was confused for only a split second, until he felt a sting in his own neck. He touched it and when he looked at his hand, his fingers were slightly smeared with blood.
He glanced from his bloodied fingers to the witch, who’d turned around and walked back to the fire. The fact that she felt comfortable enough to turn her back to him, her enemy, made him furious. “Master of the flame, I command thee: let him befall all he does to me,” the witch called out casually as she sat down near the flames and then looked back at Roman. “That’s the spell I placed on you. You won’t be able to kill me without ending your own life.”
“What are you planning?” Roman asked, his guard up. “You won’t be able to kill me so easily, even with this handicap.”
“I have no intention of fighting you right now, so relax.”
Roman scoffed, not lowering his weapon or relaxing his stance in the slightest. “Don’t play me for a fool.”
“You said it yourself: ‘good will always triumph over evil’. It’s one of the core principles of this world. If I fight you now, something will happen to make me lose.”
She was right, the fact that good would always defeat evil was a generally accepted rule in his kingdom, much like how an apple would always fall downward from a tree. It was one of the principles that Roman had used when he’d created his kingdom and the people in it. Although he didn’t create their entire lives and personalities, he had made it so that every person had their own role to play in the great story where he was the main character. And whenever an adventure ended, all wounds and scars he had incurred would magically vanish as he headed towards his next act of heroism.
However, this was the first time a bad guy actually showed awareness of that. They tended to think they were powerful enough to bend or break the rules, or they were arrogant enough to believe that it wouldn’t apply to them.
“Then, if you do not wish to fight, why do you continue your evil deeds?” he inquired as he hesitantly stepped closer.
The cackle the witch let out sounded bitter and amused, and the sound sent an uncomfortable shiver down his spine. She did not bother to answer him and instead reached her hand into the dying fire - how did the wood burn up so fast? A small, snake-like fire creature curled around her fingers, forming a ring. Roman blinked a few times in response to the sudden lack of light and warmth.
Meanwhile, the witch grabbed some more logs from behind her and dropped them in the stone circle. Then she held her hand with the ring above it and waited expectantly. When nothing happened, a stern frown appeared on her face. “Calico,” she said warningly. “I don’t care if the wood is damp, do your job.”
The ring once again turned into a small, fiery snake and after lingering around her fingers for a few more seconds, it dropped itself onto the newly formed pile of wood. Roman realized that was what he’d witnessed before, as well. The flame creature shuddered and sizzled a bit as it bit into one of the logs, but it didn’t go out. The prince watched the scene, intrigued, until he felt the witch’s amused gaze on him. He mirrored the expression and raised an eyebrow at her. “Calico? Really?”
“I like it,” she huffed, “it has a nice ring to it.” She scratched the growing flame with a finger, as weird as that sounds. The fire did not harm her at all, but Roman knew that it would be different with him, if the burning sensation on his wrists and lower legs was anything to go by. After a short silence, she spoke once more. “This world is your creation, is it not?”
The question took him by surprise, and Roman was shocked once more by how aware this witch was of his world. The people here generally did not question him or his origins, not even when the palace staff had to summon him from his room in Thomas’ mind in case of an emergency. True, he had created this whole world as a way to unwind, to go on adventures and be a hero, but the inhabitants of this world generally just didn’t notice that. An uncanny feeling blossomed in the pit of his stomach. He fumbled with words to form a denial, which in itself was enough to confirm the witch’s words.
“It wasn’t that hard to figure out, to be honest. You are the one who gains the most from the world’s core principles. Plus, this world acts to aid you if you so need it. That rain from before pretty much proves my point.”
She smirked triumphantly at him, until he couldn’t do anything else but sigh, sit down and mutter a “fine, I admit it.”
“Now, back to your question.” The witch seemed pleased with his odd situation, as if she knew something that he didn’t. The uncanny feeling grew. Roman glanced at her, on guard for whatever curveball she might throw at him. “This world acts like you want it to. The reason I cannot ‘turn good’, as you say, is because you don’t want me to.”
The prince couldn’t stop his mouth from falling open. “That’s ridiculous,” he spluttered. But things started to click in his mind and a greater picture was painted, no matter how much he tried to stop his mind from going in that direction. “You dare to insinuate that I wish harm upon my subjects?!”
The witch chuckled. “You want to be a hero. You want harm to befall your people, so that you can come in and save the day. In order to do that, you need a villain. In other words,” her smile turned predatory, “you are the reason I am evil.”
Roman’s hands were trembling when the realisation hit him. “N-no,” he brought out, unable to tear his gaze away from the woman in front of him. “You’re lying.”
“Am I?”
“You… you are simply trying to make me waver. You are nothing but a heartless coward!”
“And whose fault is that?” the witch asked in the sweetest of voices - which only made her words sound harsher to his ears. “Whose selfish desire for fame and glory made me offer my heart in a contract to a fire spirit, in exchange for power? Whose egocentrical wish to play the hero forced these evil impulses on me?”
“Stop it!” The prince pressed his trembling hands against his ears and groaned to drown out the witch’s voice, but somehow the cackling laugh still rang in his ears.
When he glanced back at her, he noticed she had tears in her eyes from laughter. “This is gold!” she laughed while holding her stomach. “This is even better than my expectations. All those fights you won, all those enemies you defeated. You’ve forced every single one of them to do your bidding and then you mercilessly slayed them. And afterwards you simply sat back and enjoyed the cheers and praises from your other pawns, time and time again. A truly evil plan, if I say so myself.” She giggled some more, the sound of it grating on Roman’s ears. She wiped a tear from her eyes and looked back at him.
“That’s not true!” the prince exclaimed loudly, more to convince himself than the woman opposite him.
“No?” she asked, downright mocking him now. “Did you not know that everyone in this world has their own role to play?”
“W-well, I knew that, b-but-”
“Then, you never wished for there to be villains and monsters to slay?”
Roman hated this. He hated this situation. He hated how this conversation made him feel. He hated how he had no reply - why didn’t the words come out? He’d rarely had trouble with expressing his opinions and greatness, but now-
What greatness, by the way? The woman was right, Roman was no hero. He was what he’d always fought against, what he’d sworn to protect his people from…
A hand on his shoulder shook him from his reverie and his head shot up, looking at the witch’s face. The woman smiled and squeezed his shoulder as if they were traveling companions or old friends. “Take responsibility,” she smiled softly, gently even.
And then she spoke the words that Roman did not want to hear, the ones that shook him to his very core.
“You’re a bad guy.”
Roman felt like something shattered inside of him.
Roman Day 3: Princey is cursed to be clumsy in everything he does for one whole week! I wonder how that plays out?
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4 (You are Here!) / Part 5
A quest to kill a witch...only this time more Fam ILY bickering.
“I feel like I am going to go to wizard school!” Patton squealed happily as he spun around in his new robes. The light blue fabric billowed out around him and made the silver pattern around the hem shine brightly.
“Yes, those do suit you well,” Roman said as he suppressed a chuckle. At least one of his new ‘party members’ was happy for the costume change and excited to be helping him.
When they had returned to the mind palace castle, Princey’s first order of business was to get up off the floor where he had fallen. This time he was sure it is Patton that said the empire joke earlier because he mumbled it to himself now with a few giggles.
The second order of business was to usher them all along to his room to change into more appropriate outfits for this quest. He was back into his princely garb, which was very important to note.
Logan questioned the functionality of the outfit he had been given but just accepted it as something weird. He did not understand how cool being a paladin was but that was just his own problem. Patton was overjoyed with the robes he had been given and seemed to accept this easily.
Virgil was the most difficult.
“I am not being a bard.”
Roman looked up at his ceiling and than back at the stubborn side in front of him. “You don’t want to be a rogue either but you are going to have to choose one. Those are the only black things I have.”
“I don’t even want to go.”
“You are wasting time, Anxiety,” Logan called over to the two of them, “Just choose something. We don’t have time for this. The longer this spell stays on Roman the longer everyone is in danger.”
“Yes. Exactly,” Roman agreed and held out the garments again. “So choose.”
Virgil looked over the two outfits and grumbled as he grabbed one at random. “I’m not going to be happy about this.”
“Yeah, whatever, Mr. Emo. Just be the rogue and hurry up with it.”
Roman moved to hand the other outfit back up and let out a VERY MANLY scream shout as the whole closet fell on top of him. At least that got an amused snort out of the anxious side as he went to change.
This going to be the long quest.
“Patton, I could use some assistance.”
“Coming!”
Entering the land of make-believe was something very strange for sides that normally did not go there often. This was, after all, Prince’s kingdom for a reason. When they stepped out of the grand front doors of the castle the three that were not used to this had to take a small moment to adjust.
While a normal medieval village would have smelled and looked awful this one was a weird mix of modern and fairy tail. People were healthy and happy and the place smelled of roses. The clouds that floated in the impossibly blue sky were perfect in every way and even made easily distinguishable shapes.
Roman smiled to himself as he watched his friends take in this new world for the first time.
Patton looked on it with wonderment. The eyes behind his glasses wide with excitement as he took in every vivid detail. Logan looked on it with disbelief. Roman could tell the logical side was having an inner war about what was possible and what this room could do. Virgil seemed to just squint and the bright surroundings as if burned his eyes and than pulled the hood of his new robe over his head to shield his pale face.
“Welcome to my kingdom,” Roman said with a flourish. His arm went out and almost hit Patton in the face. “Apologies, friend.”
“It is no big thing,” Patton said and pushed the arm away from his face gently, “But we should get a move on. The sooner we get this spell lifted the better you will be.”
“If we can get this spell lifted, Anxiety sighed and his hands twitched. It seems the side realized he did not have pockets to shove them into.
“Well this is Roman’s creation. I doubt there is any room for bad endings,” Logan said slowly, almost as if he was unsure about the words he is speaking.
“Exactly, Logan,” Roman chimed in. “Now, to the horses! We have a witch to slay!”
The prince took out his sword and pointed it dramatically to the side of the castle. He took off without another word at a fast pace. The creative side was very, not anxious, but ready to get this spell off of him so he could return to normal.
Logan and Patton were quick to follow. The two sides not willing to be lost in the unfamiliar world. Virgil followed along at a slow yet brisk pace
“Put that away before you fall and stab yourself!” He called out to Roman. Honestly, how could the guy forget about the spell that fast?
Prince was about to shout about about how that would never happen but stopped himself. With the currently curse over his person there was no telling how deadly some of these accidents could be. To his party’s surprise he actually slowed down and put the sword away.
“Right,” Roman mumbled and took a moment to breath before the blinding smile returned. “Anyway, choose any steed you would like.”
He crossed the small distance that remained and pulled open the stable doors. Patton bounded in without much care in the world and looked around at all the different horses in there. He was quickly drawn toward a lovely mare.
“Can I have the brown speckled one, Roman?”
“Ah, a perfect fit,” Roman smiled and walked over to where his friend stood, “Rosa is a fine lady. Gentle in riding yet powerful when ever someone is in need.”
“Does that mean yes?”
Logan shook his head. The logical side had already started to saddle a slate grey horse. “Yes, Patton, that means yes.”
“Oh goodie! Logan, would you help me saddle her?”
Logan sighed and made sure his horse’s saddle was on properly. “Just give me a moment, than I shall assist you.”
The prince sighed and walked away now that he knew two of them were settled that just left himself to find a new steed since Reginald was gone and-.
“I think I will just walk.” Anxiety said as soon as he walked into the stable.
Roman looked at the darkly clad side with confusion. “Walk!?! You will never be able to keep up with us on our horses. If one were to walk to where I met the witch it would take them almost all the day light. You must pick a horse.”
Anxiety glanced at all the animals in the stable with a small look of...fear? Apprehension? Roman could not tell.He just knew that it was a waste of time and they had to get this spell off him quickly.
“Look, if you are not going to choose a horse than you will ride with one of us.”
“I think I am fine with keeping both my feet on the ground.”
Roman looked up at the sky in a plea for help before he moved towards a jet black steed. “Ten it is settled you will ride with me.”
“That is even more dangerous then being on the back of an animal! You have a curse that could double the accidents that could happen to us.”
Roman paid Virgil no mind as he began to saddle the horse carefully. “Then that is even more reason for you to be riding with me. To keep me cautious of anything that could happen.”
“But-.”
“No buts, kiddo,” Patton called from atop his horse, “We don’t got time for them.”
Virgil looked around and saw he was out numbered before he gave a groan of annoyance. “Fine. Whatever.”
“That’s sort of the spirit! Glad to see you are coming around,” Roman said. He probably deserved that death glare.
Riding into the forest for the second time felt like a very strange dream to Princey. With two more horses at his side and a death hug around his waist from his unwilling travel companion he almost did not think this was actually a thing.
But here he was, racing through the forest once again to defeat a witch he had thought he had slain already. This time with his other sides to help him; something he never actually thought would happen. They were technically here to save him. Save him from the curse that had befallen him. What were the odds that this would-
“Stop thinking and look out for where you are steering this thing!”
Anxiety’s voice snapped Roman from his musings and the princely side pulled the reigns to direct the horse away from trees and back onto the path. By the looks of how dark the woods was getting they would be near the clearing soon.
“How much further?” Logan asked as if on queue.
Roman turned his head to answer but one of Virgil’s arms move to push his face back to facing forward. The prince gave an irritated sigh and held tightly to the reigns of his steed.
“We should be coming up on it soon,” he said over the wind, “Once there I do not know where to go.”
“This is your world, correct?” Logan shouted back, “If you want them to be there then they should be there. It would make sense in a nonsensical way.”
“Yeah!” Patton shouted, “If they know you are going to figure it out and come back then they should be there.”
“Unless they aren’t and than we could be coming all this way for nothing. We may never find them.” Virgil clung to Roman tighter as the words left his mouth. It wasn’t that the side was trying to be pessimistic but it was just function.
“Come now, Virgil! This is my world, like Logan said, there will be a happy ending.” Roman said with as much enthusiasm as he could muster.
He snapped the reigns and made the horse go faster. At least, he hoped the witch would be there and he hoped that he could stop them.
Roman Day 3: Princey is cursed to be clumsy in everything he does for one whole week! I wonder how that plays out?
Part 1 / Part 2 (You are Here!) / Part 3 / Part 4 / Part 5
The bad day turns into a bad week and Thomas is here to help find out what is going on.
A side of a person is more than just the base of their name. While one could be called Creativity or Fanciful as a main origin it can encompass many aspects. It, in an example, could also encompass the self-confidence, the ego, the feminine touches, bravery, romance, and even, just maybe, a partial bit of what one thinks would be the perfect them.
Of course the side will also harbor slight negative traits such as self-doubt and a constant need of praise but there is some alarm when something is off besides the obvious downsides of being part of a whole.
It had been little things since the day Roman came home after he went on a quest to defeat a witch. In the past three days he had dropped two bowls, a cup, tripped when going up and down the grand staircase he had created, accidentally smacked Logic in the face when making a grand gesture (which made Anxiety and Morality very amused), and his usual grand entrances seemed to be lacking in the grandness and just left everyone feeling a little awkward.
Every time Princey was confronted with the evidence that something was off about him he would wave it off and blame it on the slow and natural loss of creative energy as Thomas worked through his latest creative buzz.
No one was convinced about this.
Logan was not convinced since he remembered those times clearly as if they had happened yesterday. Patton was not convinced because he had lost two of his favorite mugs and really did not want to risk a third. Virgil was not convinced because all the clumsy behavior was usually his job because of what he represented and it was weird seeing his opposite do it.
They did just did not have a good way to confront the fanciful side about this behavior until Thomas gave them the perfect opportunity.
Roman had decided the best way to avoid any mess ups was to hide away in his room for a short bit and just not touch anything. Yesterday had he tried to dance along to his Disney mix but ended up tripping and knocking down five of his framed posters.
Currently he sat on his bed. There was nothing more to that statement. The Prince’s hair was not as perfect as it normally was, his ripped sash hung on the baseboard of the bed in wait of its owned to fix it, and he was still in his pajamas.
He planned on touching nothing until he figured out what was going on. He did not have long to think about it before he felt a familiar tug on his very being.
“Oh no,” he said to himself and tried to resist the summons.
The prince sat stiffly on his bed as he fought against the tug and did not let out a breath until it faded away as Thomas seemingly gave up on bringing him to the physical plane.
A pitiful groan escaped him when he was left with an emptiness; guilt swarmed his heart. Thomas needed him and probably for something important. He could not leave his person without his aid. What if there was a threat that Thomas needed vanquished or a crush he needed an ear to listen to.
“No-WHA!?!” Roman stood up fast, his intention to do a heroic pose failing as he almost slipped over a stray sock. He caught himself on the side of his bed and glared at the offending object that had almost ruined his dramatic moment.
“Anyway,” his voice was annoyed as if the sock could understand how it had offended him. “No! I will not disappoint Thomas in such way!”
In as much a rush he could go without falling over or hitting his elbow he changed into an outfit suitable for whatever was needed of him while not being in his normal princely regalia.
A simple yet stylish shirt under a gold jacket would do for now. Never going to be as good as his usual attire but he did not have time to dwell on that fact. The tugging had started again and it was insistent. If he did not show up this time the others would one searching and that was the last thing he needed.
With a deep breath he sunk out of his room and tried to appear in his usual grand entrance kind of way.
Roman failed at is miserably. He appeared in his normal spot a little too fast and fell backwards into the TV. The poor machine fell with a bang and Roman landed on top of it.
“The Empire has fallen!” Someone said as soon as he crashed to the floor. Probably Virgil or Patton, in his current shocked state Roman could not tell.
“Whoa, Roman! Are you alright?”
Roman put on a smile and carefully as he could got up. “I am quiet alright, Thomas. Do not worry, I just overestimated my entrance by a tad.”
“This is the third issue I wanted to bring up with you Thomas,” Logic said from where he stood in front of the hallway, “Roman has been a bit off as of late.”
“Just because I have been a little less than fabulous as of late does not mean we need a whole group meeting to discuss it.”
Patton and Virgil were just staring at Prince with odd looks on their faces.
“This was not exactly why I asked you to show up,” Thomas said, “I wanted to go over the recent script that we wrote, look for errors, the usual stuff but I think this is kind of more important.”
“Yeah, but first. Is there something different about you?” Patton asked and put his finger to his chin, “I feel like there is something different.”
“He’s not wearing his normal stuff, Patton.” Virgil pointed out, “And I don’t like it.”
“No that’s not it.”
Logic sighed and did his best to not roll his eyes at Patton’s obliviousness. He pushed on with his points; taking out a clipboard seemingly from nowhere.
“You see, Thomas, since Wednesday Roman has been odd. He came back from a fantasy adventure-”
“An epic quest to stop an evil witch!” Roman interjected.
“And upon his return he has been acting strangely. Normal behavior of gracefulness that comes with being your more fanciful side has seemed to depleted. He is showing rates that surpass the clumsiness levels of Patton and even Virgil.”
Thomas glanced at the two sides in question and than back at Logan.
“And that means?”
“It means he is breaking things and falling over like crazy,” Virgil stated bluntly, “It was funny at first but not it is just getting annoying. Patton’s mug collection is getting very thin.”
Patton pouted. “I miss my World’s Okayest Dad mug.”
Logan glared at the other two and continued on like they had not talked, “This means there is obviously something wrong with Roman that is beyond just the natural decline in your creative spark. This is an outside force and, as much as I hate to ask, we need Roman to tell us exactly what happened on his ‘magical quest.’.”
Roman had turned his attention to the TV while they had been talking. It had been a terrible thing to see that it was been broken because of his mistake. He stopped his inner speech of despair to turn and look at the four pair of eyes that were staring at him.
“What?”
“We wish for you to tell us exactly what you did the day before you became so accident-prone,” Logan stated.
Roman sighed and looked up at the ceiling. “Before it is ‘Roman, we don’t want hear about your nonsense quests’ and now that things are being broken you want to hear all about them to blame them on this, don’t you?”
“Well, seeing how none of this happened before you went on that imaginary adventure it is highly likely that something happened while you were out in your created world.”
“And I do like hearing about what you did while out,” Patton interjected when he saw Roman’s face turn stormy at the simply stated answer from Logic. “And this tale is the most important so we can help you get better.”
“Yeah, Roman, your tales are always the best,” Thomas said with a smile, “They help me when I am feeling down.”
Roman smiled a little and looked away. A glance being sent to the silent side on the stairs; practically begging for more praise.
Anxiety sighed in that dramatic way that just told he was not actually mad about this. He shoved his hands into his hoodie’s pockets and looks away with a shrug.
“I guess they are okay, when you don’t go overboard with the dramatic details.”
Roman brightened instantly and almost seemed to be his old self. “That is good enough for me! Alright here is what happened!”
