For this reason Sophie collects her wealth from the gambling table at Vega's while glancing at her potential husband candidates. . But one bad day, Sophie lost because of defending Philip, Duke of Ware's brother. Jack, Duke of Ware who saw his brother unrepentantly from gambling, turned his anger to Sophie and challenged her to gamble. Sophie didn't think that she could lose and had to accompany the duke for a week. . It turns out that Jack took Sophie to Alwyn House, an isolated place. In this place I love author's way to bring their chemistry together, slow burn and they get to know step by step, even though there are still many secrets hidden by each other. . I love Sophie's characters, she is smart, brave but cautious in building her investment. Also Jack's character, although a bit stuffy but he's a man of integrity and very responsible for every promise he makes. The lesson from their romance is, every relationship that is carried out in secret, even though both single fellow, is very torturous (even if it's so fun when they together). This relationship would've been almost useless if Sophie didn't dare express her honesty that she loved Jack. And for Jack might be too late to realize that love isn't something that can be measured and predicted. But fortunately they both quickly realized the misunderstanding that had almost destroyed their relationship.
