looking back, romanus nearly dying in the first chapter of book one becomes even more insane once you have context of everything they’ve done thus far to stay alive. they somehow have the worst and the best luck.
Looking back, I'll add the option to laugh as you fall. I don't know why I didn't — I think, at that point, Romanus wasn't clearly defined as a character to me.
I can't think of a better way to characterize them than a pure maniacal laugh. You've lived through it all... just to die alone in darkness. Both Fate and God are sadistic bastards.

So I'm replaying The Golden Rose by @anathemafiction and I've been wanting to do this project for a while. I call it "A Kiss by a Dying Fire." Potential spoilers ahead if you haven't read it yet:
So this scene takes place after you escape the ministry building with Hadrian and Alessa. This is where Lexi and Hadrian are alone in the tavern after Hadrian asks Lexi if she will stay a bit longer. And he asks to kiss her and this is when they first kiss. The gash in her face I tried to represent where Joan had sliced her cheek in the ministry building in her attempt to escape. After Aurelius has her arrested for "bribery."
This is my OC Alexandria "Lexi" Romanus. Lexi is what she prefers to go by. She is quick witted and sharp tongued. But has a compassionate heart. She pretty much falls in love with Hadrian well about as quickly as he does. But she is a bit bolder in her advances. And she loves to see the poor man blush but she can also get caught off guard herself. Such as in this moment. Anyway sorry this is longer than it needed to be enjoy!
If you do share please try to credit it back here to my blog thank you:)
i replayed @anathemafiction's the golden rose and im still as in love with it as when i first did
