Aaliyah was interviewed by 'The Raft' back in 2000. They discussed her role in Romeo Must Die, why she was featured on do many soundtracks (and if she preferred soundtracks) as well as her being listed as executive producer of the Romeo Must Die soundtrack. Here is her response to the executive producer comment. I'll post the soundtrack response later. I think she would have been an executive producer on a whole lot of other things given the chance 😢 .. and I think there would be some faces in music that she would have helped put in the spotlight that are sadly unknown today.

March 20 2000 - Aaliyah attending the Premiere of Warner Brother's “ROMEO MUST DIE” at the Mann Village Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.

The movie is later released 3/22/00 and grossed 91 million on a 25 million budget.

Today (August 1st) is the 20 year anniversary of the DVD release of Romeo Must Die. 

The Romeo Must Die movie hit theaters March 22, 2000; the soundtrack was released on the 28th. The DVD for the film is finally released in stores August 1st, 2000. 

The films budget was $25 Million USD and grossed $91 million USD starring Aaliyah, DMX, Jet Li, Russell Wong, Delroy Lindo, Anthony Anderson, Isaiah Washington and D.B Woodside.  

Filming for Romeo Must Die ends July 23rd, 1999 (began May 3rd 1999) The film was mostly shot in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada with a few shots in San Francisco, California, USA.
