I love the new pfp! :D
Aw thank you!! 😆💚💚💚 I tried to find a pic with my current hair length, but I had to settle with one from a couple months ago. Here, have a more current pic that no one asked for! XD (with a lil bed head and a goofy grin)
If you look closely, you might be able to see the roof rat through the air vent, plotting its world domination.
Hope I can catch this little shit
one of the annoying realities of owning livestock is pests. we’ve had a few rats in the rabbitry for a while now, and every now and then i or hoxton will catch one.
previously to living here i’d never seen a roof rat (rattus rattus) in person, so i took a couple photos of this one highlighting the differences between roof rats and norway rats (rattus norvegicus).
one of the most obvious differences is the dusty gray coat, earning the roof rat its other name, the black rat. they are generally leaner than their norwegian cousins, and have narrow, mouselike faces with large ears. they also have extremely long tails - usually the same length or slightly longer than their bodies.
apparently in the 20s in england, they used to breed and show roof rats alongside norway rats (which are the species we domesticated,) and had a green variety?? i can’t find photos but i’m dying to see it.
anyway enjoy these fun rat identification tips
A friend from sword fighting has brought me a tiny beb to foster!!! thank u spring time you never keep me waiting B)
Sadly this kiddo is a little boy so i’ll be releasing him as soon as he's old enough!! But I'm sure he’ll be ok down at the creek by my house (its a lot of land with wild plants and a stream/creek so he’ll be in a great area!!)
not exactly something I was hoping to take on with cupid just having her surgery but!! thats fine i’ll work with it~
