Growing attached to the idea of a goth orphan Mourn Watch Rook, who has spent their entire life exclusively with dead people and necromancers romancing Lucanis, the Antivan Crow who treats murder like an office job and would probably rather stab someone than have an awkward conversation.

Their interactions would be painfully awkward for them and everyone around them. They would get caught up in discussions on the most gruesome ways to die and the best coffee to get you through a long night and that is just how they flirt. Emmrich would be like a father figure to Rook and try to gently explain how flirting works but they *just wouldn't get it* and Varric would be on the other side, just as exasperated with Lucanis.

I have a vision. Please tell me you see it. I'm tearing up the walls and screeching it to strangers. They would have Aubrey Plaza's personality stuffed into a gangly, androgynous form, wrapped in black funeral gauze and stuffed with cotton candy. *Do you see it???*

Time to plan my Rook heh heh heh

This guy is gonna try so hard to be good and be a hero and his anxiety is going to go through the ROOF with the pressure on him to make decisions. Noa will be an unrepentant ray of sunshine who is also completely terrified of everything going on around him that is *technically* all his fault. Solas' protégé who refuses to think and act like him and tries to desperately appeal to him to Just Do The Right Thing and not kill everyone by bringing the Veil down.

I somehow managed to sketch, colour and paint my first Rook in between work meetings yesterday — the perfect excuse to fill out a Rook planning template. She’s a chronic eldest sister, “responsible” eldest child, runs on stubbornness and spite, looks like she might kill you but is actually a touch starved mess cinnamon roll, and has been stuck in my head for months. I can’t wait to finally play her. 💜

I'm quite set on playing an Antivan Crow Rook first but I have some loose thoughts about a Mourn Watch Rook, just because of how metal that backstory is

they/them - who cares about gender among the undead?

very pale, greyish complexion, they've barely ever poked their nose out from the tombs; pretty much look half-dead already

have a very good sense of direction in the Necropolis, much better than anyone else, rarely gets lost

serves a kind of keyholder role - has keys to a bunch of crypts, tombs, corridors and passages

no one is 100% sure where all these keys come from

knows exactly what key goes where and how to get to the lock from anywhere in the Necropolis

has a lot of love and sympathy for the undead

absolutely hated leaving the Necropolis and aches to get back; is pissed off at their superiors for making them leave their only home because of a bunch of snotty nobles

not fully up to date with what's going on outside of the Necropolis (but has all the tea about what's going on inside) and with other nation's cultures and customs

their last name Ingellvar comes from the name on the tomb they were found in - the Mourn Watch actually looked into this family after finding them but the Ingellvars died out centuries ago and there are no traces of any descendants; the name stuck with them though

I am very invested in the idea of making my Dark Urge Malvolio into Rook de Riva but I also feel the need to make a Grey Warden Rook. No solid ideas for them yet though
