I got him on the 3rd of December; he was being fostered by a friend of a friend, and she desperately needed a new home for him. All in all, I am his fourth home, and he’s only 12 months old, so he had a rocky start to life. He didn’t respond to either of his previous names, but he did perk up when I tried out Nicky, so Nicky it was :)

He’s incredibly lively and playful, and loves attention (even if it’s just because he’s being naughty), and he’s very loving.

How do you feel about Thasmin? I kiiinda ship it, but only if it's one sided. As in, I'd love (even more) confirmation that Yaz has romantic feelings for the Doctor, cause I crave the representation, but also I don't really see the Doc ever reciprocating, immense age gap and all. And even if she did, I wouldn't wish that on Yaz, she deserves way better than our beloved crabby ball of unresolved issues. I feel like I'm really in the minority here though. What do you think?

I can see that Yaz definitely has feelings for Thirteen and Thirteen has some sort of feelings but I don't know what they are since Thirteen is very opaque in that area.

It would be interesting to see and if the rumors are true -- it would be fascinating but so far Thirteen has subverted the Doctor’s usual MO of being extremely co-dependent on Companions by having a crowd in, or to put it simply, Thirteen ‘About a Boy’d her situation. 

"Suddenly I realized, two people isn't enough. You need backup. If you're only two people, and someone drops off the edge, then you're on your own. Two isn't a large enough number. You need three at least.” 

And Thirteen coming from the state she’s in and then ending up in solitary and then away from the TARDIS, who the Doctor is extremely connected to and dependent on this go around and then only having Yaz?

It might all be....

DELICIOUS ANGST. 

Plus, I do miss the intense one to ones the Doctor has with a Companion whether it’s platonic or romantic. Eleven was certainly intense with Amy without being romantic, and Twelve was really intense with Clara and that... could be read as romantic.  

Also, I really love how you call Thirteen ‘our beloved crabby ball of unresolved issues’, you are right and you should say it.

Personal curiosity, since I'm fascinated with stationary performance: how would you say the ink is holding up in your collection or Rachel's & Co. letters? Is it faded at all? I would assume they didn't use fancy durable ink for everyday letters. And what about the paper? Still holding up?

This entire collection is in ridiculously pristine condition. With the exception of the oldest letter in the collection (a random one from Will’s grandpa written in 1849) there is absolutely no degradation or fading to either the ink or the paper in any letter that I’ve found so far. There’s some minor dirt/discoloration to the envelopes, but the only fading/discoloration I’ve come across to the letters themselves is in letters that had something (like a newspaper clipping) tucked inside. The only rips/tears appear to be old ones that happened at the time the letters were written or soon there after. Even the creases where the letters are folded are still crisp and intact with little to no wear. I have to use multiple paperweights to hold the letters flat when I transcribe them.

Honestly most of the paper feels brand new. If you shake it back and forth you still get thatsatisfyingwobblewobble sound you get with expensive stationery.

The collection is written on a wide variety of paper ranging from incredibly thin watermarked tissue to lined notebook paper to heavy-weight monogram stationery to a very crisp blue paper I suspect may be from Tiffany & Co.

Ooh, how about top 5 airports you've been to? Is that weird? Is that a weird question? I'm both fascinated and terrified by the chaotic mix of international and local that airports have. I'd ask train stations too but I don't know how much experience you've had with those.

airports is easy: cdg, doha, incheon and then everything else is just a battle for least awful, but the winner is the gold coast airport, which is literally the worst airport on earth. actually melbourne domestic is worse if you’re flying jetstar because it’s literally a 10 minute walk from the main terminal to the gate. i also have a soft sport for atlanta because of the train, even thought that place is chaos. sfo is the calmest international airport i’ve ever been in, and adelaide airport is like being in a nice quiet hospital, which is pretty chill.

90% of my train experience is the brisbane-gold coast train, which is the worst, but they introduced quiet carriages after i moved to melbourne, and that was nice to experience when i was back there for a few months and working in brisbane. my favourite subway stations are the dc metro ones that look like a cylon ship, although there was this one station in paris that was literally like descending into a nuclear bunker that i really dug. but the little gold subway token dudes in the 14th st/eighth ave subway stations in nyc are my very most favourite.

What do you think about scrapbook paper for decorating a journal?

That’s a great idea! I’m up for anything I can decorate my journal with :) I’ve used paper bags, wrapping paper, stamps… I’m sure that scrapbook paper would look good too, it might be a nice alternative to a washi tape! :)

But also, Westworld really is a world where Samaritan won, and its creator was immoral, isn’t it? Or at least, a control freak who thinks he can control everything. The system there even has the Samaritan aesthetic.
