It is interesting to see that the government of Year II during the French Revolution—specifically the Montagnards, les exagérés, and les Enragés—are often criticized in television, films, and school textbooks, while Thiers and his allies, who caused the massacre of up to 20,000 people in one week during the suppression of the Paris Commune in 1871, are given a free pass or are barely mentioned. There are very few films on the subject; so far, I have only found two: one about the life of Rossel and another about Louise Michel, which focuses on her life after deportation. When the topic is discussed, it is often minimized or explained away as being a product of its historical context
