it will always be a banger when fitz simply chooses not to tell you how he feels about something gay. oh the fool kissed him? surprising! anyway. oh does he want the fool to keep the earring he gave him for his wife? yeah he did. anyway. oh the fool just said ily for a joke and fitz froze. why was that an effective bit? why did fitz do that? Idk. let's all stay up recognising and rejecting a truth we do not wish to understand tonight.
I do think it's fascinating how he is cagey about the fool even from the start. like maybe I just wasn't as hyperaware of their dynamic then but you almost don't realise they are becoming close friends until they are in farseer and it makes you like? why weren't you telling me about the fact you guys like. clearly kind of hang out. and you think he's really funny and are very fond of him. until you're telling chade. it's just always and forever a relationship fitz will not be telling you quite as much about. and it's so interesting.
