EJ, Loch Garten’s most famous and successful breeding female #osprey May have died from old age. She has always returned to #lochgarten by April but her nest currently stands empty and overgrown with weeds. At 21 years old, she has lived to an incredible age for her species and has amazed the world with the adversities she has had to overcome. This image was taken in 2013 when a group of us watched in awe as she grabbed an enormous fish, dropped it, dived to grab it again only for the fish to drag her around in circles! As you can see, the fish was huge but EJ would not be beaten and won her prize. Good night EJ.
