I love Roy Harper as a character for the following reason:

I think he’s funny, I think he’s cute, I think he’s complex, I think he’s a dork, I think he’s an amazing dad

I like how he works to overcome his past issues and be a better person for his sake and his daughter’s sake

He’s not perfect, he knows he’s not perfect, but he’s doing the best he can and he’s okay with it

He can get terribly depressed about shit and has some self loathing problems, and I can relate

I like how he was raised in a community of Native Americans and accepted as one of them without becoming a White Savior character, unlike the way his mentor tries so hard to be one

He’s a good dad and fuck you if you think Lian’s a plot device

I don’t like it when

He’s treated like a knock off of Green Arrow, which is all the Red Arrow phase felt like to me and I still believe it would’ve meant something had the JLA accepted him with the name HE made for himself

He’s treated like a one dimensional joke about drug addicts

He’s treated like collateral damage for Green Arrow and Black Canary

His past being raised on a Navajo reservation is ignored for the sake of more drama between him and that idiot Oliver Queen
