Someone's uncredited gay mermaid shipping art on Pinterest sparked a little rp AU

----------- Emmet is a mermaid/siren, luring sailors with graceful dances and shimmering white scales. No sailor can resist. none but one.

Aiden Wayfare, in this AU, is still a sailor, a captain with his own ship. Said ship just so happens to fall victim to the lure of a group of sirens. Men and women alike are captivated by the songs and displays the beautiful creatures offer, some jump overboard and are torn apart in moments.

All sailors are affected—but one. Aiden is demi and not interested, which frustrates Emmet to hell.

The next storm the ship battles goes catastrophic as there's a crew missing. Captain Aiden gets swept overboard and is now shipwrecked. This gives Emmet a chance to figure out why tf this particular human remained unaffected by his lure.
