It can't be just me right?
Nothing like a little pressure
The clock has officially started. I have 2 weeks to complete my work on my one shot. I’m a little nervous and a little excited. The in person group is relatively inexperienced, and very casual role players. On the other hand, I want it to go well. Here’s where I’m at. I have the structure done, with encounters planned. I have the primary pieces of all the characters done. I have the map for the…
But what if I put my in-character campaign notes onto ao3 and spent the whole hiatus just fleshing out Thomas until he has more words than the setting doc?
Note: Thomas has nothing to do with Sanders, that’s just a coincidence for once cause I wanted to theme the triplets (his bros are Thames and Theo, I believe a magus and a wizard respectively but I’d have to check). The hiatus is because 1/3 of the party decided to have an entire infant and newborns can’t hang, so we’re waiting til everyone’s good mentally and physically and has free time.
So the news of the week is that the RPG I was running? I lost one player.
Story is that when I started the campaign, it was when I was working and I had weekends off with no problems until mid Feb when my first year at university has just started. Now, as priorities lie, uni comes first. My HEMA training, my campaign and everything else has taken an awful little back seat until the holidays. The thing is, right, is that I have already told the three about how I will prioritize uni to campaign and I can offer a compromise in exchange for no sit at a table game. I offered to use discord and play online rather than having to constantly put off games, which would be irritating as fuck because I don’t want to cancel games and if I’m at home, it would be easy enough to conduct a game.
The two boys; my cousin and the other dude were pretty okay with that.
One guy, let’s call him A. Immediately did not approve, and that his only reason for joining was that he could sit at a table with other people and play. Let’s just say during that conversation, he kept rolling lower and lower charisma scores to try to persuade me, each one more irking than the next. I put my foot down on it, and at the time I thought that was that. I usually will not be that assertive, but his tone was that of a 20 something year old man whining about not having his way.
So the next few discord sessions go okay, but I had to cancel one two weeks ago, because I had two deadlines in a week and it would have been madness to run a game and finish the projects. So I break the news to the boys, who were okay, but days later, I get a message from A, days after I told him about having to cancel, saying that he’s dropping out.
He’s dropping out because of a “lack of attendance and low frequency”, and he was unhappy for some time because the other boys are often quite late. Malaysians have a bad habit of being late, it’s a culture thing (which is something he already knew). A said that he understood that I started uni and that he was fine with that but I already knew he was being a sore butt about not getting his way from the other day because he wrote that “bad experiences with online RPGs that it has turned me off on the idea completely”
At the time, I had just submitted one project, furiously working on the other, when this guy sends his message. Talk about awful timing? I just straight up told him that fine, thanks for the honesty, but I also said I wasn’t going to beg him and that the seat’s open if he wants to return.
Today, I was asking a friend, who is one of the best GMs I know about borrowing a book, and he ended up asking me how was my campaign. I ended up giving him the short version. He was like “yeah, he’s like that, don’t worry, your game will be better off without him.” The plot thickens, I suppose.
So now I’m left with a party that has no mage/healer. And these two boys like to fight with everything in sight. Time to ask if people want in.

It is Thursday, and other thoughts #DnD #RPG #CriticalRole
Yay! It is Thursday, and I can stay up again tonight in order to stay up to date on the doings of Vox Machina. Few things inspire me to run games and really get back into the swing of role playing than watching a session of Critical Role. Luckily for me I have a session of Deadlands coming up, and then Pathfinder the following week. The inspiration should not go to waste.
One thing I have been…

Alright, that’s kinda neat. I found an old paper of notes of possible ideas I made about half a year ago when I was re-reading GURPS “Infinity Unlimited”, and wanted to make an RP out of it. It was more for my own sake, and no real game would probably ever be made (as I know nobody that play GURPS in my are).
But I want to transcribe it here in case I loose it and might need it in the future. Also if you guys want to check what goes on in my creative process in a setting that is, effectively, Stargate SG-1 mixed with alternate universe time travels. And a world were Nazis won. And a world with Australian Ethno-Conformist with a hard-on for interventionism.
This is specifically a “TImelost” idea, with the Infinity Unlimited sending a team, the PC’s of course, to a planet with Dinosaurs and Cavemen.
Next in the line of work to be done, I need to work on emoticon faces for the fairies. Thankfully, Misha already designed what hers looks like and I already designed mine but I have to whip up designs for the other three.
I'm using pronouns like 'I' and 'mine' and referencing to my friends is because the designs were specifically made for us so I use them to make it less confusing for me so don't mind.
I had a feeling I would get a question like this ummm...
Oh, I didn't design the outfits! My friend Misha did VuV
How do I explain without sounding lame...
