I really love how the character of Hamid from Rusty Quill Gaming uses his character class and the mechanics of the setting to create a really interesting story. His story of avoiding hard work and taking shortcuts only for that to be validated thanks to his natural talent, and how that exacerbated his own dark tendencies and privilege, is, I think, relatable to a lot of "gifted” children. The line, “I could never do magic, until suddenly I could -- and it was easy, when all my professors said it was supposed to be hard, so I just... stopped listening to them,” hit me really hard.

It’s also really awesome how natural magic talent was tied so neatly into a character whose arc was already about privilege, because magic being inborn has always rubbed me the wrong way as a trope. I think the player recognized that and chose to say something meaningful with it, and I’m really pleased with that.
