Character Bases

Development

Veronica started off as a character similar to how Eloise is now; cool, sociable, and glamorous. The literal second piece of artwork featuring her immediately made her infinitely more dramatic, flamboyant, and childish, symbolized by a more youthful and cute design. Part of this was because Veronica, formerly Dolly, was completely unrelated to Alexandre in her first design.

Veronica’s promotion to main cast long after Al actually helps to play into the differences between the two. Al’s a doormat and unable to ask for himself, so Ronnie’s the one to get them tangled into the main plot. It’s the sibling version of “he asked for no pickles”.

Alexandre’s little sister. Surprisingly, she’s the only Von Nillion with anything resembling social skills. An entertainer who essentially lives in the limelight, her fussy and occasionally goofy melodrama makes it easy to forget that not only is she just as smart as her siblings, but she’s also made of solid metal and hits like a truck.

Fun Facts

Veronica is one of several characters to change names in development, starting off as “Dolly”, then “Vera”.

Veronica’s surname, same as Alexandre’s, is a play on “vanilla”. Her first name is a play on silver. I could’ve just named her “Sylvia” but I already had Sylvester (grey).

Veronica’s second design had a significantly more blue hue to her than her first and current designs.

Veronica is the shortest Von Nillion despite being older than Bronson. Because that’s how adulthood works. Moron.

Veronica wasn’t originally conceived as Alexandre’s (gold) sister. Her redesign was to heighten the resemblance between them. Bronson (bronze) was made shortly after. Of the three, she changed the least from her (second in her case) prototype due to Al (he got taller) and Bronson (he shrunk significantly) switching their relative ages.

Veronica’s earlier concept art had a near-constant serene look on her face in contrast to the deliberately off-model expressions she makes in both her original and current designs.

Veronica, for all drama queen mannerisms, is the least likely of the Von Nillions to spend obscene amounts of cash.

Veronica’s hair, more accurately the pointy bit separated by her bauble, comes off if you pull it hard enough. It makes an effective weapon if Veronica’s desperate enough. Or if she’s in one of her moods. Or in general, actually; Veronica’s disturbingly bloodthirsty.
