The rancher held out two flowers tied together somewhat clumsily with silver ribbon: a pink rose and an iris. The girl shuffled slightly, a sheepish smile tugging at her lips. “Uh…here. You…your cooking is really impressive…It makes me wanna learn more, I guess, so…and you’ve been really nice to me, so…yeah…”
“Thank you so much, Angela,” Raeger beamed and took the two flowers, careful to not undo the ribbon that was wrapped delicately around them. His cheeks turned red at Angela’s flattery, his hand instinctively dragging across his hair. “Is my cooking really that inspirational..? Oh… wow, thank you a lot for the nice words… I really appreciate it.”
He turned to look for a vase or pot, which he had plenty of. His grandpa was always enthusiastic about having plants around the restaurant, and it about time to get new flowers. It would seem a little cheap to just be using the ones he got from the Flower Fair, but they meant a lot to him. They were like little notes reminding him of his virtues. He didn’t really know much about interior design anyways to know which ones would look best with the walls.
“I hope you don’t mind that I’m untying this,” the chef said as he freed the flowers from the ribbon and placed them into a red vase. The colors sort of… clashed, but it didn’t matter much to him, he was happy enough to have them around. “Thank you again, Angela.”
