Last night had been a messy hunt. You, Sam, and Dean, taking on a particularly sly wendigo. Dean had limped away with a strained ankle, Sam had been slammed into a wall hard enough to make your own ribs ache in sympathy. And you? You weren't doing much better yourself. Bruises mapped their way across your skin, exhaustion fogging your mind.
But damn it, you were hungry.
So you let the boys sleep. Left a quick note taped to the motel door—Gone for food.
You’d considered taking the Impala, but Dean would probably jolt awake like some kind of creepy cryptkeeper if he heard the engine. You didn't want his indignant bitching, you wanted some damn food. So you walked.
The diner was the kind of place that had probably looked exactly the same since the ‘80s—faded checkered floors, a counter lined with chrome stools, and a coffee pot that had likely seen things no coffee pot should. The morning light slanted through the window beside you. Winter was starting to lose its grip, the cold giving way to something softer, lighter. Even your aching muscles felt a little looser, the quiet hum of the diner settling into your bones. For the first time in what felt like days, you exhaled.
The bell above the door jingled. A pleasant sound, soft and unassuming.
Instinctively, your gaze flicked toward the entrance, half-expecting Sam or Dean to come shuffling in, still looking half-dead and demanding coffee.
They didn't. Instead, she walked in.
Ruby.
She strolled through the door like she owned the damn place, blonde hair catching the morning light in a way that made her look almost angelic—if angels were the kind of creatures that manipulated their way into your nightmares.
She dropped into the seat across from you without ceremony, propping her elbows on the table as she leaned towards you.

A/N: Hiya, it’s been a while, we are going to try to post at least a monthly one shot, but won’t make any promises. Hope you all that read this enjoy this!
You were awoken by the sound of notifications going off loudly. You stirred around on your bed, trying to ignore the cacophony of dings your phone kept emitting. Groggily, you made a mental note to silence your phone from now on. When you could finally look at the screen without it blinding you, you scrolled through the seemingly endless string of texts Ruby had sent to the group chat, “The Gnomies”. Yes, Jamal came up with it. Yes, everyone tried to change it, but he just kept changing it back so they gave up. You groaned as you read the messages. ‘Be here at one on the dot,’ the last message read, ‘mandatory meeting’. That was less than half an hour from now. Lazily getting out of bed, you started getting ready. After brushing your teeth and making your hair look somewhat presentable, you threw together an outfit that resembled a picture you had seen on Pinterest after looking up ‘grunge aesthetic’. You liked trying out different styles constantly, feeling like every single one of them suited you, but none of them could get you to commit to them for more than a month. Satisfied with the way you looked, you left your room, grabbed your keys and skateboard, and started to skate your way to Ruby’s house. Midway, though, you decided to take a detour and get some food—junk food, to be precise—knowing that you would not be able to handle a hyperactive Ruben on an empty stomach.
You left the joint with two bags full of food, hoping bribery would get you out of being lectured by Ruby about punctuality. You balanced the bags on both hands like a scale as you focused on not falling from your board on the way there. Making the last turn to Ruby’s house, you miscalculated the speed you were going at and had to hop off the board, letting it crash against the curb. Though you fell on your ass, you made sure to hold the food up keeping it safe and sound. Holding both bags in one hand, you retrieved your skateboard and walked up to the door, but it flung open before you could even think about knocking. Ruby stood on the other side with a scowl. You smiled sheepishly, extending one of the bags to him.
“You’re very late! Did you get me fries with that? Also where are the others?!" Ruby said all in one breath.
"First of all, I know I'm late, but I'm sorry to inform you that you are not more important than food.” Ruby scowled and was about to protest, but you kept speaking before he could utter a word. “Secondly, yes, I did get you fries, you impatient goblin. I mean, what do you take me for? A monster?” You pretended to be offended, but Ruby simply looked annoyed by the dramatic display. “Just know that when I win my first Oscar I will not be thanking you, Ruben.”
“Yeah, yeah if you say so—also don’t call me that. Can you get to the most important question now?”
“Damn, someone hasn’t had their daily handy.” You laughed in astonishment, amused by how much irritation Ruby had in him.
“Seriously, Y/N, this is serious!” His voice raised an octave, causing it to crack, and you had to bite back a laugh.
“A la jaula, bestia, a la jaula,” you began, laughter causing your words to come out like wheezes. Ruby spared you one death stare, and you somehow found your composure. “Look, I have no idea where everyone else is. I, honestly, thought everyone was already here and that you were waiting on me.”
“So, you thought they were here and didn’t think to bring them food?” Ruby questioned.
“Do I look like I have enough money to feed todos esos trogloditas? I brought you food with hopes of getting out of the ‘Punctuality Lecture’, but seeing as they aren’t here, guess that spares me.” You dropped the skate on the entryway, pushing past Ruby to sit on the couch.
“And here I was beginning to think you favored me from the rest.” Ruby sighed with disappointment before raising his voice dramatically. “When in reality, it was just BRIBERY!” he exclaimed, his voice cracking once more as he fake sobbed while clutching the food. You clapped as you opened your food, ready to dig in.
“Damn, man, I better watch out, otherwise you’re probably going to win that Oscar before me,” you said as you began stuffing your face.
“Are you calling me dramatic?” He placed his free hand over his heart.
“Oh, without a shadow of a doubt, now sit down and eat.” With your fork, you pointed at him then towards the couch. Instead of sitting, he started pacing around the coffee table, and you watched him as you munched on your sandwich and fries. He stopped for a second to place his bag of food down, yet he didn’t sit down to eat it. He kept going around the small table at a pace too quick for your eyes to keep up without feeling dizzy. “Wow, man, slow down. Me mareas con tus vueltitas.” He only huffed. “Ruben, seriously, I did not buy that for you to let it go to waste. At least breathe and stress eat.” He whipped around at the mention of his full name.
“I thought I told you not to call me that,” he reminded you exasperatedly. “Anyway, I can’t eat right now. I have many thoughts whirring in my brain, and it’s making me sick. Do you know why I called you guys here? Well, if you’re here, you must have read the messages—” Ruby was rambling on and didn’t even stop in between sentences to take a breath so you cut him off.
“RUBEN!” He ceased all movement so abruptly that a skid mark could’ve possibly been seen in the spot where he stopped. “Could you get to the point,, please? You’re making my head hurt.” You completely ignored his previous statement and pressed the tips of your fingers to your temples. Rolling his eyes at you he sat on the other end of the couch and took his food out. After a few angry munches, he turned to face you, the grease of the food that was plastered on his mouth drawing your attention to his lips.
“Alright, since the others aren’t here yet, I’ll just start telling you my new ideas for income.” He stopped eating and started chattering and chattering and chattering…
You don’t know when it happened, but at some point, he stood up and began pacing around the living room again. You stopped listening about half an hour into his ramble, zoning out and staring blankly at him. Your mind got the best of you, and you started to remember why you liked Ruby. What brought this on? You didn’t know. Maybe it was how much passion he put into his pointless arguments, or maybe even that you found it totally adorable that he was practically unable to lie because he would start sweating like a pig on a stick. Maybe it was the way he smiled at you, the tendency he had to correct everything you said matter-of-factly, or maybe it was his dangerously absurd perfectionism. It could be one of his many qualities, good or bad, you didn’t care. Your eyes trailed to his lips once more. They were so full and pink it was hard not to stare—slightly chapped too, but that wasn’t a problem to you. You imagined running your thumb over them, pulling them close to yours and then just crashing them together. Your breath hitched in your throat at the thought of you and Ruby making out. It wasn’t an uncommon thought of yours, seeing as you’ve been dreaming about it happening almost every night since you discovered what hormones could do.
There was always Cesar, you thought. He was the “face” of the group after all, but that got to his brain sometimes. Nothing more dangerous than a cholo who’s aware of his good looks. You grimaced slightly. Cesar’s ego was one of the many reasons why you never developed an emotional nor carnal liking to the boy. You’d rather leave him to Monse, plus you wouldn’t dream of getting caught in the middle of their toxic and manipulative games. But that’s beside the point. You were abruptly brought back to reality by Ruby waving his hands in front of your face, occasionally snapping his fingers. Shaking your head to shake out the thoughts, you noticed Ruby was now standing on top of the coffee table, being careful not to step on either of your foods.
“PAY ATTENTION TO ME, (Y/N)!” Ruby whined. You held back a chuckle at how funny he looked. His small body barely added to the coffee table’s weight. Deciding to play it cool, you shrugged nonchalantly.
“What’s your fuzz? I am listening to you. Have been for the past hour and a half.”
Ruby squinted his eyes at you. “No, you weren’t. I know that face. You were very deep in your thoughts. What’s going on in that pretty, little head of yours?” You freaked internally.
He’s onto us, you told yourself. “Yes, I am onto you, (Y/N), that’s why I asked. Keep up.” He looked at you like you were stupid. Wait how did he—Can he read my mind? Blink twice if you can read my mind. Ruby blinked twice, and you felt like a rock dropped in your stomach.
“Oh shit,” you whispered under your breath.
“Before you throw up on my couch, I’ll have you know I can’t read your mind. You were just speaking out loud.” You threw yourself backwards unto the couch, grabbing a pillow to cover your face. After making a mental note to slam your head against the nearest wall later, you decided you were not going to make a further fool of yourself.
“I wasn’t not paying attention; I was just—”
“I am the king of bad excuses, babe, so spare me your lies.” You blushed at the nickname and prayed he wouldn’t notice. “Now since there is obviously something more important on your mind, speak,” he demanded.
You weighed your options. You could either try to lie and hope he’d let you off the hook, which was not likely, or you could tell him the truth and risk your friendship being awkward from now on if he didn’t feel the same way—and with your luck he most likely didn’t. A few more silent seconds passed before Ruby spoke once more, “Don’t make me take drastic measures on you, (Y/N). I will have no mercy.” He eyed you with determination. You scoffed in disbelief.
“What could you possibly do to torture me, Ruben?” You mocked him, stretching out his name. Ruby smirked.
“Oh, you’ve done it now.” He jumped from the coffee table, landing on top of you and successfully pinning you to the sofa. You giggled and tried to get away from his grip, but it was surprisingly strong. Ruby chuckled at your failed attempts to break free. “Now, you’re going to tell me what I want to know, or else,” he brought his lips close to your ears, “you’ll pay for it with your melodious laughter.” Your eyes widened in realization as his words sank in.
“No, not the tickles,” you begged him playfully. He nodded while mischievously smirking.
“One last chance, are you gonna talk?” You shook your head.
“In your dreams,” you defied.
“I was hoping you’d say that.” In seconds, his hands went to your sides and laughter erupted from your throat in loud cackles.
“Stop, Ruby—Stop!” you tried to articulate between laughs. He shook his head no.
“Not until I get what I want.” He said between laughs as well, since in retaliation, you had managed to start tickling him as well. The sound of his own laughter mixed with yours was like music to your ears.
“N—Never!” You still mutinied. His fingers only increased their pace and not in ways you’d like. Your stomach was starting to hurt and you were running out of breath, leaving you with just one option. Well, it was now or never.
“I WAS THINKING ABOUT KISSING YOU,” you blurted; his movements ceased, “I have been since we were in middle school.” You closed your eyes, concentrating on catching your breath. Ruby released you and got off of you, running his hands through his hair in deep thought. You sat up and covered your face with your hands. “This is going to be so awkward now,” you muttered through your hands but it came out like an incoherent jumble of sounds. You moved your hands to sneak a peek at Ruby. Your muffled words didn’t even faze him.
“Ruby?” You looked over at him. His eyes met yours, and he struggled to bite back a laugh. Great, you thought, he thinks I’m a joke now.
“About time.” He grumbled and sighed.
“What?” You were very confused. What could he possibly mean by that?
“I said ‘about damn time,’ (Y/N).” His suppressed laughs turned to a shy grin. Still confused as ever, you tried your best to gather your thoughts and form a coherent sentence.
“Wait, YOU KNEW?” You felt sick to your stomach now. All this time, you thought you had been successful at keeping your feelings hidden and sealed away, but now it turns out even he knew.
“Well, yeah, I’ve known for a couple of months now.” He shrugged it off as if it were obvious.
“Months?!” This was unbelievable. You abruptly stood up and faced him, hands on your hips. “So, you’ve known for months and you didn’t think for one second to tell me? At least, have the decency to confront me, damn it.” You found yourself feeling dumbfounded, feeling toyed with. Ruby reached out to you, holding on to your forearm and pulling you back to sit on the couch. You let him.
“Cesar and Jamal implied it once during one of our guy’s nights, and ever since then, I kind of started paying more attention. Ergo, leading me to the conclusion that you liked me,” he explained. “If it makes you feel any better, the clues to your feelings were very subtle so, I would have probably never noticed if it hadn’t been brought up.” Ruby was trying his best to cheer you up, but you still felt extremely embarrassed by the fact that your secret crush wasn’t so secret.
“Why would they even bring that up, in the first place?” you questioned, annoyed.
“Well, I may or may not have made a comment about how I thought I was starting to develop feelings for you and the guys just jumped on that and told me that you liked me too,” Ruby admitted shyly, rubbing his neck awkwardly.
“So, if you like me back, then why didn’t you say anything or make a move when you figured out I actually felt the same way?” You felt bad for interrogating him like that, but you were in dire need of answers.
“I just didn’t know how to bring it up, and even if I did, I wouldn’t have known how to say I liked you back without, probably, choking on my own saliva.” He chuckled lowly, afraid that if he laughed too loud, he’d set you off again. “You know I’ve never been good with the ladies, (Y/N).” You grimaced at the memory of all of Ruby’s failed love attempts.
“Well, you already knew I liked you—it was a matter of saying three words, eight letters,, and I would’ve been yours months ago.” You pushed his shoulder playfully, the anxiety and embarrassment you had felt washing of and making room for the still-settling realization of having confessed your feelings. Ruby leaned back into you, your legs brushing, causing you to take notice of your proximity. Your hands fell upon each other’s, and you looked up to meet his eyes. You started leaning in, maintaining eye contact as you got closer.
“Ruby,” you started, but he shook his head.
“Don’t think, act,” he said as he grabbed the back of your neck, crashing your lips together. All your late night fantasies crashed at once, the real thing surpassing each and every one of them. Kissing Ruby felt like a kaleidoscope of butterflies got loose in your stomach—it felt like your heart alone was running a marathon. Kissing Ruby was soft and messy, your lack of experience shining through-. Ruby kept pressing himself to you, making sure there was absolutely no space between you. You had to resort to lying down, pulling Ruby on top of you, not once breaking the kiss. Due to the new position, one of his hands made its way to rest on your waist and the other cupped your cheek. Your hands around his neck were pulling him impossibly closer, and in that moment, your body felt like it was exploding with fireworks, warm all over. You didn’t break away until you needed to breathe, a goofy smile plastering itself on your face. Ruby held the same expression as you as he looked down at you. As you started leaning in for another kiss, the door burst open. You pushed Ruby off of you, causing Ruby to fall on the ground with a thud.
“Uh, what’s going on here?” Jamal asked.
“Told you guys it would work.” Cesar had the biggest, cockiest smirk on his face. You and Ruby shared a confused look and stared back at the very late rest of the crew.
“Yep, just like you said. A couple of hours alone, and they were all over each other.” Monse said, trying her best to refrain from laughing.
“I think our little man, Ruby, just popped his cherry.” Cesar wiggled his eyebrows. Monse’s eyes widened and she broke down laughing.
Irritated enough, you finally spoke up, “Slow your roll, Little Spooky, we’re not like you and Monse.” You shot at him defensively, and Monse choked on her laughter. “No offense,” you added, not wanting to stir up any drama.
“None taken,” Cesar assured. Ruby got off the ground and reclaimed his seat beside you.
Leaning over, he whispered, “Why can’t we be like them?”
“Keep it in your damn pants, Ruben.” You nudged his side and he raised his hands in surrender.
In retaliation, though, Cesar sat between you and Ruby. You shared a look of annoyance before Cesar asked, “Are you going to finish that?” referring to the forgotten leftover cluttering the small table.
“Go crazy.”
“Suit yourself,” you and Ruby at the same time.
As Cesar dug in Jamal spoke up, “Can we just skip to the part where Ruby yells at us for being late and starts talking non-stop?”
“No, man, not today.” Everyone looked bewildered. “Cesar why don’t you take that home? Yes, okay, bye,” Ruby dismissed him.
“Wait, woah, the hell man?” Cesar questioned as Ruby used all his might to get him off the couch.
“You can all come back tomorrow, on time, and we’ll talk about my idea.” He said shooing them all away.
“Are you freaking serious?” Monse got angry quickly.
“Hey, not my fault you decided to play cupid and be late on purpose.” Cesar, Jamal, and Monse shared looks of pride at Ruby’s statement. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some wasted time to make up for with my new girlfriend so, bye!”
“Whatever you say, man,” Cesar said as he opened the door with one hand, the leftovers in the other. When Jamal and Monse were outside he said, “Just remember sin gorrito no hay fiesta.” He immediately shut the door after himself, but that didn’t stop Ruby and you from yelling after him.
“Fuck off, Cesar!” You both yelled with smiles on your faces as you looked at each other. With everyone else gone, Ruby cupped your cheek once more and tenderly kissed you until you had to head back home. That night you slept peacefully, no longer having to dream and wonder about how kissing Ruby would feel like.
May I request HCs for Ruby, Blake, Yang and Pyrrha with a gf who routinely survives things that, by all accounts, *should* have killed her? And like, not even she knows how she does it?
( Absolutely! This will be one of the last RWBY requests for now! )
RWBY
RUBY ROSE
Ruby almost has a heart attack every time this happens. No really, she has a hard time handling it whenever such an event occurs and she runs to you, tears streaming down her face, and throws herself into you, wrapping herself around you and refusing to let go for a very long time. She goes on and on about how worried she is and how you can’t keep doing this and how you need to be more careful and how you shouldn’t take almost dying so lightly and... She stays by your side whenever you guys aren’t doing anything dangerous, and even closer when it is something dangerous. She knows she can’t stop you from taking the big hits, and she knows it’ll be worse if she takes them, but she’s so worried that the next one is going to actually kill you...
BLAKE BELLADONNA
Blake has no idea how you keep surviving these things. She tries so hard to protect you, but she just never seems to be able to keep you from all these near death experiences. Any time she tries to stop it, it just seems to happen faster. She’s always there to see it, by the way. She doesn’t want to not be there if next time happens to be the time that you don’t make it. She just really wishes there wouldn’t be a next time. She wishes that danger didn’t always seem to find you everywhere you went. She knows you don’t do it on purpose, but she really wishes there was something she could do to just... keep you safer than this. She is overcome by the desire to protect you.
YANG XIAO LONG
Yang is kind of... snappy about it sometimes. When you take an especially bad hit, she tends to get on you for being so reckless. She doesn’t really mean to be like that about it, but she gets kind of lost in the heat of the moment. She worries about you more than anything, and she doesn’t know what she’d do if you were taken out. After she’s had time to calm down a bit, she holds you close and apologizes sincerely for the way she talked to you. She’s just... very scared. She’s scared you’ll be taken away from her and there’s nothing she’ll be able to do about it. She doesn’t want that to happen, but she knows she can’t protect you and it eats her up inside. Maybe someday she’ll get used to it, but almost definitely not anytime soon.
PYRRHA NIKOS
Pyrrha is probably the most worried out of the bunch. She has a hunch that it has to do with your semblance, and she doesn’t particularly enjoy it, but she loves you enough that she pretends it doesn’t absolutely scare her to death. She’s probably the best at keeping you safer than you would be otherwise, but sometimes she can’t get to you in time to be your shield. She seems like she would be the best at staying calm whenever this happens to you, but she actually loses her mind in the moment. Once or twice she has run over to you out of passion and protected your unconscious form from all harm until it was safe to retreat. She latches onto you in private and rarely lets you go, muttering about how scared she is that one day you’ll go somewhere she can’t follow you. Somewhere she can’t protect you. That one day she’ll see you leave the world without her. All she wants is to be assured that you’ll be okay no matter what happens.
Everyone remember thst night clearly , the night were you got shot by latrelle and didnt make it , when Cesar told you he loved you for the first time , now Cesar could only think about how he never got to give you the last kiss and make things official beetween you two , it was killing him inside that he was never going to see you smile again or laugh like he loved so much , how everytime he passed by your house he would saw your parents crying in your room in your bed when the window was open , he missed you more that he ever thought he would and he couldnt handle that pain it was too much for him to bare and the crew knew it like damn even Oscar knew it but Cesar didnt let nobody come close to him or seeing him crying.
Cesar was walking alone to school a routine that seemed normal to him now with his eadphones in his ears and head bow down feeling numb to the pain he was feeling that day , in the end of the street he saw his friends and immediatly the crew ran to him being goofys to make him smile but Ruby looked at him and told all of them to stop and just gave a hug to Cesar tight has he could and walked by his side quiet respecting the state of spirit of his best friend.
¨you know man , you could take some time off from school and have some time for yourself and visit y/n in her grave or talk with her parents, it would be good bor you to have some disclosure about those feelings , I know you loved her and trust me she loved you too but she wont come back and she would like for all of us to stay here and make the best of our lifes and try to be happy, she wouldnt like to see you like that Cesar ,I dont like to see you like that , neither of us does.” Ruby spoke softly and with a lot of pain his voice trying to contain the tears that started to form in his eyes , he looked at his friend in a glance and saw Cesar face , he was not the same anymore and Ruby knew that his friend blamed himself for the death of the girl he loved since he didnt kill Latrelle like his brother order him to do and on top of that he was kicked out of the Santos , so Cesar didnt have much to look forward to.
“ stop ok man!” Cesar stopped on his tracks and looked at all of his friends with now an angry look on his face. “ stop making me feel like I am the victim when you know i fucked everything up! If i was man enough to kill Latrelle y/n would still be alive , i could walk with her today hand in hand and smiling with her , we could do all that we planned , we could be a whole crew again , so stop making me feel like I didnt have any fault in this because I do! I was the one who sentenced her to her death and everybody knows , she was my girl so what the hell was I expecting ?! you guys have no idea what it is to go to sleep and the only thing i have from her is voice mails , pictures , memories , I cant even look at her parents because I know that they hate me for what I am or was , you guys have no idea of what it is to feel empty again , damn Ruby you got shot and look at you , you are not the same anymore so I even messed up my best friend head with my issues . I just ... damn i wish you were y/n.. I miss her so much man, she was my soulmate i knew it , she could handle my life both side of it , she always had something positive to say about whatever it was , even Oscar took a like on her and now I am in the street living because not even my brother wants me to live in his house anymore , Ruby I want her back so bad man , I cant live like this , i cant it hurts to much..”
Cesar broke down in tears infront of his friends for the first time and all of them came to give a big hug letting him cry all his pain and anger knowing for how long he was holding on those emotions inside. Monse back it up a little and wiped her tears fast before going to her backpack and take the letter that y/n wrote for Cesar confession her love for him and with that she made a video to suprise Cesar on his birthday .
“hey i think its time for you to see this, she made this video so everytime you wanted her close to you no matter where you two were she was always going to be by your side and this letter is for you to see for yourself what she feels, it doesnt matter if she is not here physically , she is here in our hearts and arounds us , she was part of us and always will be and has long we have these little things to hold on to her she will never leave us or be gone forever.¨
Monse gave Cesar a small smile and played the video on her phone showing all of them laughing and playing around , Cesar couldnt hold the little smile forming on his lips even though his heart was tight and tears were streaming slowly down his face. Y/n was now on the room with Monse and she didnt knew that she was being recorded when she was talking about Cesar and he smirked at her blushing when mentioning him.
“oh god Monse he is so sweet and so cute, I mean that boy is more than cute but i dont want to ruin our friendship with confessing my feelings , I fell in love with him for his smile , for his eyes the way they sparkle when he is laughing , oh god that laugh makes me feel like a little girl on christmas time , Oscar knows I love him and he laughed even though he said we would make a cute couple but what can i do? i dont want things to go awkward beetween the group. Everytime that I am with him time stops and i dont want ever to leave, if I could i would sleep in his arms for the rest of my life because to be honest i have never felt so safe with someone like i feel with him, even though he has the life he has in the gang I dont care, everyone has a past and has some kind of legacy to make or continue and I believe he just wants to fit in with his brother , I love him so much Monse and if you knew how my heart beats when I see him you would think this is from a movie or something , I am sorry im just rambling and being annoying , sorry Monse”
Cesar broke down once again and hold the letter to his lips kissing it tears never stop flowing and everyone was crying at the same time , they all loved her for her kindness, she was the neutral one of the group , always ready to help everyone without wanting nothing in return but seeing the others happy and that is what Cesar loved the most about her , he looked at Monse and nodded to her in a way to say thank you and she looked at him the same way crying , Jamal sniffed and looked behind to see Oscar in his yard looking at his little brother with this heart broken , Oscar started to walk over and Jamal gave a small scream hidhing behind Ruby like he was his savior .
“ We need to talk lil’ spooky” Oscar tried to keep his posture and cesar looked at him with his eyes red and puffy from crying and Oscar couldnt see his brother like that , he broke his posture and gave a hug to his brother making him know he was there to support him.
“ Im so sorry for what happened to you but I can promise you something , we are going to fix this and give you and y/n the peace you guys deserve. She was a nice girl actually i liked her , she had this aura about her that made her easy to talk to , so if you still want we are going to end with the prophets for good and honor her memory hermanito. Por ti y por tu amor que tienes a ella , sabis bien lo que tienes que hacer por iso para de llorar , Im here for you , you didnt lost everything.¨
Oscar whispered in his brother ear and like that Cesar still had some hope for him, he didnt lose everyone he loved and damn right he was going to finish with the prophets , he was going to make them pay for what they did to his princess and no matter what from now on Cesar was going to make whatever it takes to rebuilt her honor and memory so it can prevale forever like he wanted.
(if you want to get tagged on the next imagines and future fanfic let me know ,hope you enjoy this first imagine , love you )
Summary ; Where Y/n is so accustomed to receiving all of Ruby’s attention, she doesn’t know how to respond he ends up giving it to someone else.
masterlist
A/N: Fun fact about yours truly: I absolutely love Jealous!Reader fics because I am the most overly dramatic, petty and jealous person I know.
Also Ruby is very extra in this, bc my baby is an amazing character who deserves to be overplayed and exaggerated in every dimension of his existence. mkay :)
“I ended up waiting there for nearly an hour.”
Monse and I were grabbing our lunch from the cafeteria, as we did everyday before joining the guys at our usual lunch table. I took that small time space as an opportunity to vent to her about Ruby, and how he stood me up the night before. Normally I wouldn’t have minded too much, because we had been together for a year, and one date wasn’t that big of a deal. However, Ruby was never the type to do something like that to me. I knew something was up.
“- But then I just gave up and went home. He didn’t text. Didn’t call,” I continued, as we made our way through the line of hungry students, eager to get their food and find a seat. “He still doesn’t even realize that we were meant to meet up last night, and that he literally left me out in the cold. Do you think I’m overreacting?”
“Are you kidding?!” Monse handed me a water bottle as she cocked her left eyebrow up and scoffed. “Remember when I forgot that we planned a group costume for Halloween last year? To this very day he still won’t let me forget it, because ‘have you any idea how much though I put into this, Monse?!’ No, you have every right to be upset, Y/n. This is not cool, especially coming from Mr ‘I swear I’m only person who cares about the image of our squad’.”
I couldn’t help but laugh at Monse’s dramatic, yet accurate, impression of my boyfriend. However, my laughter didn’t last much longer when we finally made our way towards our usual table, and there, sitting in my usual spot next to Ruby, was the infamous Olivia. I gave Monse a side-eye glance, to see if she, too, could detect what was wrong with the seating arrangement. She could.
“Oh, hey baby,” Ruby chirped, as he finally looked away from Olivia to notice Monse and I sitting opposite to them at the round lunch table. “Hey Monse. When did you guys get here?”
“Oh, about twenty minutes ago, but whose honestly counting?”
I held my water bottle up to take a sip, as well as to conceal the huge smirk on my lip from Monse’s snide and tactless remarks. Everything she was saying was everything that I was thinking, but could never say out loud, so I was extremely grateful that at least she didn’t care about how Ruby would react.
“Anyways,” Ruby said, rolling his eyes at Monse before turning back to the rest of us. “Thanks to a certain someone- you know who you are- completely forgetting about the group costume we had organised for Halloween last year, I propose that we all go rogue this year, and dress however the hell we like, because its obvious that some of us don’t care about coordination nor the image of our beloved squad.”
“Rubyy,” Monse cried, holding her hand up to her head in annoyance and regret, because he was, yet again, bringing up the tragedy that was Halloween 2017. “How many times do I have to tell you I’m sorry. When will you get over it, man, it’s been a year?!”
“Sorry won’t change the fact that our Scooby Dooby Doo squad was missing a Velma Dinkley because she was mysteriously replaced by Katniss Everdeen. Really, Monse? Fucking Katniss Everdeen?”
The rest of us tried not to laugh, because we all knew that Ruby was dead serious, especially when you take into account the death glare he would give Monse whenever this topic resurfaced. He loved Halloween. He loved our squad. Both of which were some of the few reasons why I loved him.
“Anyways,” he continued. “I just wanted to let you guys know that I’m gonna be going as Count Dracula, so Jamal, you better not show up in the same costume as me like you did in 2016. You have been warned.”
“Hey, about that,” I spoke up. “Are we still on for that movie night afterwards?”
“Of course we are, baby,” he says, before smiling reassuringly at me, which almost made up for the fact that he stood me up last night. It felt nice to know that I still had some position on his list of priorities. “I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
“Uh- Ruby, I thought you agreed to help me make and send out the invitations... You know, for my quinceanera. I already told all of my relatives that they would be sent out by the first of November.”
“Shit,” he cursed to himself, before looking over at me with his signature apologetic expression. “Baby, I’m so sorry. We can have a movie night some other time. I promise.”
“Alright, that’s okay,” I replied softly, despite the glare Monse was giving both Ruby and Olivia. First he was standing up for Olivia and now he was cancelling our plans for Olivia. What was next? “Are we still on for studying after school, though? I am absolutely falling apart in History, and I could really use your help for the exam on Monday.”
“Crap. Baby, I completely forgot,” he muttered. “I am so so sorry, but I already told Olivia I would help her with her Chemistry assignment.”
“Yeah, sorry, Y/n,” Olivia said with regret in her tone, even though a large part of me questioned if she actually was sorry. “I missed a lot of school with all of the moving and sorting out my parents’ situation. I really need Ruby to help me go over all of the material for the assignment.”
“It’s okay, don’t worry about it,” I murmured, staring sadly at my half empty plate of food. “I think I might head to class now. Maybe my history teacher can recommend someone else who could help me. I’ll see you guys later.”
“Babe, I’m real-”
“It’s fine, Ruby,” I stated bluntly, before taking my plate and leaving, despite knowing that it was anything but fine.

“Should I just break up with him?”
“What the hell, Y/n?!” Monse shrieked, looking at me like I was completely out of my mind for even suggesting such a thing. “Why would you even think to do something like that?”
“Why wouldn’t I?” I said deafeatedly. “He cancels on me to hang out with Olivia. He stands me up because he always seems to lose track of time when he’s with Olivia. Hell, the few times we do end up hanging out together, all he ever talks about is Olivia’s fucking quinceanera!... It’s painfully obvious where his priorities are at. Why shouldn’t I just... get it over and done with.”
“No, no, no,” Monse cried, before grabbing both of my hands: something she always did right before giving me a pep talk. “Y/n, you and Ruby love each other, okay? I’m not talking middle school crushes, I’m talking love. Like, if I asked him who his girlfriend, best friend and soulmate is he would say you, and I know that your answer would be him as well.”
“Then what do I do, Monse?”
“Well, I don’t know, have you tried talking to him about this? You know, like what every other functional and rational human being would eventually do? Do you ever think of that, Y/n?”
“Now really isn’t the time for sarcasm, Mon.”
“I’m serious, Y/n,” she responded, before stopping at her locker to put her textbooks away. “Ruby loves you, and I promise that if you just tell him that he’s been ditching you one too many times, he will come to his senses.”
“Okay, but I shouldn’t have to tell him.”
“No, you’re right. You shouldn’t have to, but it’s still your best option,” she said, trying to reason with me. “He cares about you, Y/n, so there’s no doubt that he’ll listen to what you have to say... speak of the devil.”
I turned my head around to see Ruby making his way towards Monse and I.
“Cover for me, Mon,” I blurted out quickly.
Even though I could hear him calling my name, I held onto my books tightly and made my way towards my next class as quickly as I could. His calling became more and more frantic the farther I got, but I wasn’t ready to face him. Not yet.
“Woah,” Ruby muttered in disbelief, as he stopped next to Monse who was just as surprised at how quickly I ran away from him. “I can’t believe she just ran away from me. Like, literally ran away from me. What was that about, Monse?”
“Huh? Why would I know?” If there is one thing you can rely on Monse to do, it’s lie terribly. And by terribly, I mean horrifically.
“Okay, what aren’t you telling me? Hurry up and spill, or I will use my sources to pry it out of you, Monse Finnie.”
“Y/n made me take an oath in the third grade,” she responded, not willing to back down quite yet, even though she was, deep down, sick of the whole situation. “So I can’t tell you anything about what we talked about, especially if she specifically asked me to keep it a secret. It’s the girl code, Ruby. My hands are tied.”
“Girl Code? Really, Monse?!” He yelled. “Where was this loyalty when I asked you to cover for me with my abuelita. You were more then happy to sell me out for a chocolate bar and a handful of skittles.”
“We were five, Ruby.”
“And now you can finally redeem yourself by telling me why my girlfriend is ignoring me. Please tell me, Monse, or I swear I will tell Cesar about the love poem you wrote him in the fifth grade.”
“... She wants to break up with you, Ruby.”
It should be noted that, despite being one of the most liveliest and most vibrant souls ever to walk the face of the earth, in this moment, Ruby was the exact opposite, because from one simple sentence, his heart, quite simply, shattered.
“What?... Why? Why would she... Why?”
“Think about it, Ruby,” was all Monse could tell him, before she realized that he needed a slightly bigger hint before he could see what was wrong. “When was the last time you hung out with her? How many times has she had to sit in between Jamal and I because Olivia took her spot next to you. How many times have you ignored her? Cancelled on her? Decided that helping Olivia was more important than helping her? Like, dude, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but Olivia is pretty damn smart, so I highly doubt she’s needed all of the extra study sessions you’ve insisted on having.”
“I had no idea... And now she wants to dump me- oh my god, Monse, what do I do?”
“I swear to god, sometimes I feel like I’m apart of your dysfunctional relationship as well, what with the amount of times I’ve had to fix your problems- Look, Ruby, Y/n thinks she’s not important to you, which is why she wants to break up with you. All you have to do is prove her otherwise. That is literally all you have to do. Can you do that?”
“I....Okay,” he whispers, as he nodded and contemplated exactly how he was going to execute this. “Okay... Yeah, I can do this.”

It was Halloween. It had been two whole days since Monse and Ruby spoke, and with each passing hour, he was beginning to become more and more convinced that he could not do this, because every time he even attempted to approach me, I found a way to escape.
However, there was virtually no way of doing this on the night of Halloween, because all five of us, as well as Olivia, were all headed to Brentwood, and there was no way of escaping this.
“Okay, guys, here’s the plan,” Jamal said, as the six of us huddled together. “We each pair off and tackle one section of the neighborhood, and then we all meet back here once we’re finished and split what we’ve got. Agreed?”
We all nod in agreement, before breaking apart to decide who would go with who.
“Ruby and I can take this area,” Olivia suggested, which surprised just about nobody. What did surprise me, however, was the way that Ruby almost immediately shook his head and took a step towards where I stood.
“I was actually hoping Y/n and I could take the houses on the right. I mean, if that’s okay with you, baby.”
“Uh... I think I’ll take the left with Monse, actually.” As I began to back away from Ruby and make my way towards Monse, she shook her head at me and lightly shoved me back towards him. Before I could say anything in protest, the four of them went their separate way and I had no other choice but to go with Ruby.
“I think you already know why I wanted to be paired with you.”
“Well I know it’s not because you want to spend time with me, because goodness knows you’d do anything to avoid that.”
“Baby, c’mon-”
“But, heaven forbid, anyone dare come in between you and Olivia and your precious little goddamn study sessions and quince preparations.”
“You have no reason to be jealous of Olivia,” he exclaimed, before grabbing both of my hands and trying to get me to look at him. “Baby, you are the most important thing to me, and I’m sorry you haven’t been feeling that way lately, but I will do anything and everything to make it up to you.”
“You say that every time,” I retorted, stopping suddenly in my tracks and crossing my arms angrily. Ruby turned around to face me, but knew better than to try and get close to me, especially when I was this angry. “Every time you cancelled on me you promised to make it up to me, but you always go back to doing the same thing over and over again. Fuck, you still haven’t noticed all of the times you’ve completely stood me up.”
“Baby, I-”
Just as he was about to finish his sentence, his phone began to ring, and as he held it out I saw an illuminated photo of him and Olivia appear on his screen. I roll my eyes and scoff, because, leave it up to her to interrupt the small amount of time Ruby and I ever got to spend together.
“Just answer it,” I told him, before unfolding my arms and continuing on down the track that we were on. “We both know who you’d rather be talking to anyways.”
“Y/n. Stop.” As I made way past him, his hand gripped onto my wrist and kept from going any further. I reluctantly turn around and face him, only to see him press the decline button and return his focus back onto me. “Baby, what’s going on? Why do I get the feeling there’s more to this than just me being preoccupied with Olivia’s quinceanera? What’s up?”
“You stood me up, Ruby,” I whispered sadly, unable to resist the urge to stare down at my hands. “We were meant to meet at the diner last Thursday, and you never showed up. I sat there by myself looking like a complete idiot for a whole hour, and when I went over to your place I saw you and Olivia dancing outside your garage.”
“We were just practicing for her quince.”
“The fact that you think that that’s why I’m upset is the problem,” I responded. I couldn’t help but grow more and more frustrated and sad when Ruby still couldn’t understand why else I would be upset. “Last Thursday, Ruby. October 25th?”
“Our anniversary,” he sighed, completely and utterly deflated by the fact that it took him this long to realize.”Baby, you have to believe me, I had so much planned, but once Olivia moved in I got distracted and it just... It completely slipped my mind and I’m so so-”
“I know,” I said, cutting him off from apologizing yet another hundred times. “I know you’re sorry, and I know that you want to make it up to me, but... sometimes I feel like I’m not important to you. Like, you mean more to me than I do to you, and it sucks, Ruby. It really fucking sucks, so do me a favour and stop leading me on... please.”
I wipe my cheeks and go back to having my arms folded and my eyes on anything and anyone other than my boyfriend. He stares at me, dumbfounded, for what felt like a lifetime, before shaking his head an pulling his phone out.
“Olivia? It’s me Ruby,” he said softly into his phone. I couldn’t help but scoff and tear up a bit more, that was until Ruby walked towards me and grabbed my hand softly, as a way of reassuring me that this was all part of his plan to win me back. I wasn’t yet convinced. “Yeah, I’m sorry but I can’t help you tonight or tomorrow night... Why? Because I am going to be spending all of that time showering my beautiful girlfriend with love... Yes, I am whipped... Okay, thanks for understanding. Bye.”
“You didn’t have to do that,” I told him, even though, deep down, I was over the moon happy that he was finally going out of his way to make time for me.
“I did, though,” he replied sassily, before wrppaing an arm a round me and walking with me down the rest of the street. “Because you could not be more wrong, baby. You are one of the most important things in my life, and if I have to cancel all of my plans and devote the rest of my life to reminding you of this constantly, I will do it. No questions asked. No hesitation. Because I’m your ride or die... You’re stuck with me, baby... Now let’s finish off these houses and head over to that diner. I have a burger to buy for my favorite girl... Don’t tell my mom or abuelita I said that.”
Just as he stopped to turn into the next house we arrived at, I pulled him in for a kiss, which took him by surprise, however it didn’t take him long to snake his arms around my waist and pull me closer to him. We completely forgot about the other kids walking about around us.

“I hope so.”
The four of you headed out of the area towards the courtyard, then towards the student dorms.
