Walk on with your head held high, As I say my last goodbye. Would you be inclined to stay If I let you have your way with me?
Last few wips of 'Heart Is Where The Home Is'. The final painting layers of this oil painting was focused on finessing finer details like the home she's clutching and adding glitter all over her shoes.
Theories for RWBY VOL 7
Okay, so disclaimer: I have no proof and I do not fully or hardcore believe this. These are just some stray theory thoughts that I have played around with. Feel free to comment your own takes or theories.
We seem to be heading into a Wizard of Oz theme with the show with the Wicked Witch as Salem (literal witch name) and the Wizard of Oz as Ozpin. Salem just created her flying monkey army (which I think is just as scary or scarier than the one from the movie). They say Salem can't be killed by Ozpin but they didn't say she couldn't be killed or defeated by another character or in another way. Now, I came up with two random theories. Theory 1: In Jinn's vision, one of Ozpin's daughters had a Toto doll and is possibly Dorthy. Her death was offscreen and was possibly did not happen (though I am personally leaning toward dead or greatly injured). We all know not to fully trust offscreen deaths with RWBY. The only one who could defeat the Wicked Witch of the West was Dorthy. Ozpin's daughter(s) may be the only one who can defeat Salem, the Wicked Witch. She's possibly somewhere out there in Remnant in maybe the the middle of nowhere or on a farm (Kansas) and living a long life like her parents were cursed waiting to be called on. Also, Atlas capital is Emerald City. Glynda Goodwitch could even somehow sending her to Atlas. Theory 2: Salem can only be defeated by the girl with red shoes *cough* Ruby *. Maybe Ruby's Silver eyes are some sort of reference to how the slippers in the original play of Wizard of Oz are actually silver, not ruby slippers (heh, Ruby maybe she is even named after the ruby shoes). Glynda could even show up at some point to help or point the team in a direction (I kind of just want to see Glynda again). Theory 3: I am probably crazy and have overanalyzed a lot of this. It's fun to think about how far they would go with referencing though. After all, Pyrrah's arrow in the ankle helped lead to her death like Achilles whom she was inspired by.
Some Dorothy and friends colored sketches ;)
